Terrorism is reduced because Pakistan Armed Forces have done their job amazingly well, not just in combat but rehabilitation, community building in affected areas as well as education and use of media.terrorism is reduced because of religious scholars who condemn it and preach peace and true Islamic teachings and also by Public using social media

“I do not have to prove to the world that I am a Muslim; it is between me and Almighty Allah,”
“in order to be Muslims, we don’t have to chant slogans, but prove, through our deeds, what we believe in
Wow. The begining of the change. The begining of the great push back after 40 years of obscurantism has begun from the highest levels of Pakistan Army. GHQ has finally woken up to the dangers of Islamism.Pakistan army is a national army and that religion is a private matter of an individual.
No need to cheer up since many Ziaz also serving, it may be because of army chief but when he left changes would be in air.
For real change you need to change constitution of Pakistan.
This just shows how miserably the civilian set up has failed at so many levels.Pakistan Army and soldiers were sent into hostile zones just to be referee of the weekend volley ball matches between Mehsoods and Wazirs.
Nothing at all done by the civilian Government, so true.Nothing much they did to bring back peace to cities.
i have not denied role of armyYep TTP were addicted sermons of khaasi molvis (no matter how much they would have differed from their own views) and they were hooked up to social media to read what Pakistani population had to say.

against terrorism but without public support army was not able to achieve this.the army get money and other benefits in return for their efforts but public and religious scholar who are contributing against terrorist get no money in return like ispr is receiving
I am well aware of that but unlike political parties Pakistan Army is the only thing that resembles a functioning institution. What is a institution? It is a organization that has existance beyond the immediate person who occupies the position of boss. The army is not a private property of the COAS. Therefore any change is structural. This would suggest a paradigm shift rather than wishes of one person. To be sure it will take decades to weed out the "Ziaz" but the institutional change in direction has began and follows from group decision. No need to cheer up since many Ziaz also serving
killing terrorist is justified and after Aps attack no one doubt this.I hope you got my sarcasm ......... civilians are still wondering if FATA should be merged with Mars.
I don't know much buddy .......... but one thing I can tell you for sure .......... none of us civilians (be him the most supreme Mullah) could ever understand the difference between them (terrorists) and us .......... as clearly as a Pakistani soldier fighting these terrorists in those areas. A Pakistani soldier doesn't fight for sake of killing ........ he kills for a justified cause. We in cities took too long to understand the justified cause and remained confused.
Pakistans military is not a religious organization. That's why banning Ahmedis or other non Muslim Pakistanis on higher posts amounts to institutionalized racism. If same thing was happening here in the West against Muslims, same Mullahs would have cried discrimination and anti Muslim sentiment. But as long they themselves do it against non Muslims in Pakistan it's fine.I am well aware of that but unlike political parties Pakistan Army is the only thing that resembles a functioning institution. You see I always felt that you could have superficial relationship but a very good one with China - like I have with my neighbour. My neighbour could be gay, drunkard but all that means nothing to me as I merely have one sided narrow "hello/bye" interaction with him. And that is how it has been with Sino-Pak relationship for all these decades but with CPEC we are entering a full on, across spectrum and consolidated relationship where $100 billions are being invested. 10,000s of Chinese are interacting and moving to Pakistan. As CPEC moves forward it will increase even more.
To expect that Pakistan could still paddled the religious frenzy and still play a full role in CPEC is a no and no. Those in power would have increasingly become aware of this as they deal with their Chinese counterparts regularly. And they know they have to re-orient Pakistan accordingly. That change has began.

Thank you China. Thank you my athiest brothers in Beijing. Celebration time.

If religion is truly a private matter, then why do they ask for it when promoting soldiers to higher posts? How?
He is speaking for the institution where once declared religion is as private as anything you can imagine out to be.
Declaration is documentation. Documentation is important just like census or anything. To make it your personal thing you have to declare it as such.
You are getting too carried away with definitions.
Army is an institution.
One part of the state. Not the state themselves.
