Reclaim Australia and No Room for Racism rallies clash across Australia

A pure anti racism rally in my opinion. And being Australia gives me no surprise.

.
I agree with you brother but there's a context to the no halal part.
Products will be certified Halal in OZ with government agencies supervision …
which will have costs attached to it and the protesters don't like that.

In most well-off nations, mentioning that your ever growing taxes will pay for
something you don't use almost always puts a few protesters on the street
so that those would include the claim is not surprising.
What's the big fuss about Halal certification? - Bush Telegraph - ABC Radio National (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)

Good day, GSG :P, Tay.

Why not include the cost of the government supervision into the cost of the product; which is to say if you want to eat Halal or Koshur or XYZ kinda meat which is different than what is widely available - Fine....but you pay a premium for it to cover the costs ! :)

But then that would be construed as discriminatory as well.. It's a no win situation

If the economic considerations of the policy are told to the people in a respectful and accommodating manner, I can't imagine why it would.

It may definitely be considered discriminatory if a self-righteous approach to the whole thing is adopted with the approach 'shut up and confirm to the dominant culture or get the frig out of our country....yes thats right...its our country....not yours even if you were born here', taken !

But their country.....their rules; you won't hear me complaining !

My poor poor friend, you are so naive :
that suggestion of yours is way to simple for politicians and lawmakers.
It's a rule of thumb for them that if something answers a problem at iso or minimal cost,
that something is awry, the measure is incomplete and will fail. Or so the rumor goes!
They also need the complexity to couple with legalese and provide laws illegible to the
general public, to cover their azzes IMHoO.

And as Gibbs said, a measure for a small part of the people will then be fought by the
left leaning inclusionists folks in lieu of the right wing exclusionists ones.
 Tay.

The opposite actually! The "self-righteous approach to the whole thing is adopted with the approach"
that if some people are forced to abide by a different set of rules that is discriminatory against them
and should be fought for their own good and the democratic right of all to suffer from the same stuff,
even if that special condition is as benefiting to them as raining manna!

Hard to explain, really, Tay.

Its racism pure and simple bred out of extreme ignorance, some genuine concern and the inability of Muslims to present a better image of themselves. But their country.....their rules !
Inability to present a better image of Muslims you say?
I disagree.

World over, we do see what Muslims are doing. The world was isolated till now and news rarely crossed borders as easily before. Today this is what Muslims protesting in australia did:

So Mr Armstrong, you feel that the Muslims are not showing a better image of themselves, maybe because you have some other image of Islam.
The others do see the correct image of what Muslims do wherever they are going globally - whether that be in England or in Australia.

Not factually true, young man! You will never see that kind of slogan in France as it is forbidden by law.
Nor in Canada and probably not much in the US even though allowed.
It relates to how lenient a country is. In Paris, calling for murder will earn you a 48 hours chat with police.

Just sayin' Tay.
