Reason Why Army men beaten motor way police officers?

A complete audio statement by Pak Army's Captain who involved in a scuffle.

Did the guy who was beaten black and blue give any statement?
What's his story?
Actually it is a matter between two individual bullies both relatives to Army Generals and wants to show their supremacy over other but every thing started by a bully motorway officer. Now matter is mutually sorted out but army investigation is underway.

First of all, we need to have great regards for our army as an institution. Having said that please be mindful of the fact that we have black sheep in each and every institution. Such disgraced people bring a shame for their whole institution. The disgraceful treatment meted out to the traffic police has no place in the law of the land. The culprits were called by one who was challaned for violating traffic laws. They committed grave crime by physically assaulting a law enforcement personnel while he was discharging his duty. We should wait for the inquiry launched by army. I see no reason to doubt the assurance extended by the ISPR that justice will be served in this case.

Everything started by a bully from motorway police who claims that his mamoo is General and would teach Army captain a lesson.

This sort of things bring shame to the whole of institution. Army officers had crossed their limit so they must bring to the justice. Beating a police officer on duty will not set a good precedent. No one is above the law. They broke the law so must be punished.

I have consulted a retired Naval Captain of the HM’s Navy known to me.

Police officer can arrest anyone including the Prime Minister if found breaking the law in the area under his jurisdiction. I was given to understand that there are no legal restrictions on civilian police arresting uniformed/ serving military personnel unless it was a restricted area where police cannot enter without authorization. Only person beyond the law is the Queen / King who is supposed to be the fountain head of the law of the land.

However once arrested, the military personnel is obliged to inform the Commanding Officer and he /she can demand full access to do so. Normal procedure would be for the service personnel to be handed over to the Military/Naval police and tried by the military. I would expect that generally similar rules apply in Pakistan as well.

Since there is no respect for the law in Pakistan society and army officers/ personnel being members of the same society, also have similar attitude towards the law of the land. In my humble opinion, even if Motorway Police were totally in the wrong, Pak Army Captain should have voluntarily surrendered and taken the case up through the official military channels. Beating up of police officers in the course of their duty should not be condoned under any circumstances.
