Indian Muslim mindset and their historical reality is very different from ours.

I know this is more like an anecdotal evidence, but since moving to the US during my teenage years and during my undergrad almost every Pakistani student I know shared a very close bond and friendship with the Indian students, both the ones born in Pakistan and US. They have maintained that bond many years after graduation, even after moving to their respective countries or staying in the US. In an university setting with thousands of international students they had equal chances to mingle with any other ethnicity you mentioned yet they found more in common with the Indians, there is an obvious similarity in culture you can't ignore.

But please don't assume nobody deliberately targeted West Pakistani civilians and the innocent families of military servicemen in East Pakistan at the time in question. Trust me on that one. I'm not biased against your average Pakistani, I even get along with Punjabis.

TBH bengalis and indians have so much in common with one another that they are virtually the same people.

As Pakistanis we are very different to both bengalis and indians to the point where we cannot even relate to them.

The Pakistani people, our culture, our history, our race, our dna and experiences as a people are very different to that of indians and bengalis.

The only country that shares the most in common with Pakistan is Afghanistan. About 75-80% Afghans are racially, genetically and culturally the same as us. We also share a common heritage as one another. Pakistan and Afghanistan were one nation for well over 2000 years, so our shared similarity is only to be expected.
