What's new

Ram Nath Kovind takes oath as India's new president amidst slogans of Jai Shri Ram in parliament

.
How about Allah uh Akbar, Hallelueah lord be praised, maybe thank Jehovah,
Last time I read the constitution, and you really should, we fought for it for nearly 150 years peacefully. It describes clearly that we are a secular REPUBLIC of many private faiths.
Religious Drama in Parliament is uncalled for.

LOL......why would Hindu MP's say allah hu akbar or hallelueha ? :cheesy:

How is saying "Jai shree Ram" "Not secular" ? :cheesy:

How does it make India any "less" of a Republic ? :cheesy:

RIP LOGIC.

Considering the curtailing of Hindu rights in India, "Jai shree Ram" is very much called for and that call is only going to get stronger in days to come.

NOT Singing Vande Mataram, our national Song due to religious reasons, is perfectly alright BUT
Saying Jai Shree Ram is NOT.

Thanks for the explicit clarification :)

Bawa's butt hurt is leaking gas. :P

I wished President himself would have chanted "Jai Shri Ram", the last nail on coffin of secular ghetto (Rastrapati Bhavan). All bastion under saffron cover, no cry zone for sickularturds .

.
Yesterday was a particularly bad day for anti-nationals.

1. Kovind a Dalit RSS member (yeah, millions of them exist) is now the president. He did not even acknowledge the likes of Nehru in his speech. The icing on the cake was the Vande Mataram & Jai Shree Ram slogans that reverberated the oath taking ceremony.
For all those under the delusion that this Dalit man might be "secular", let me assure you that he is a hardcore Hindutva RSS member. There won't be any free lunches with this man in the building.

2. Madras HC making Vande Mataram mandatory. There goes the "Dracida" champions into hiding. The shock will take some time for these Church sponsored traitors to come out from, if at all they come out.

3. For the first time in JNU, Tiranga March happened amid slogans of Vande Mataram. Imagine just a year back this is the same place where the "secular" gang was praising terrorists & asking for break of India. From that to Tiranaga March, the collective butthurt of the "secular" gang can not cured by all burnol in the world. Icing on the cake was the demand for a tank to placed in JNU as a reminder of sacrifices of armed forces.

4. The SIMI leader confirming the collusion between Congress & Pakistan to supress Samjauta Express blasts. This one will hurt seculars the most on the ground. The Hindu terror bogey they tried to raise has JUST boomeranged spectacularly. Icing on the cake will come when the Hindus will vote against the Hindu hating parties. Until then they may have to contend with Swamy taking the matter to courts.
A development we all welcome. Those with anti India narrative will now be ..er.. dealt with.

.
The president or his supporters can chant what they want but not inside Parliament,it's the symbol of secularism.why to bring religion in it,next someone will shout Allah hu Akbar in Parliament and someone will something else ,that's how things start.
India is secular. People can believe what they want. And since they were Hindus they did.

Honestly I don't see why you leftists suplicate yoursleeping to the Muslims all the time.

I am a Buddhist and perfectly fine with it. Similarly there are others who are fine with it across India.

Stop this leftist apologetic narrative please.

How did you come to conclude that I am leftist ,no you got it all wrong .

Salim bhai, I never said anything about not singing Vande Mataram. If you go to the Tamil HC thread, you would see that I actually support singing it.

Jai Shree Ram though? Its blatantly communal.

What would you say if members start shouting Allahu Akbar when they take office?

Cheers, Doc

How is Hindu's shouting Jai shree Ram communal?
Did these MP's force anyone to shout it?

Please decide on the meaning of secularism.
Option 1: No religion of any kind.
Option 2: Freedom for everyone wrt their religion.

Don't pick and choose convenient definitions based on the scenario.

Our Secularism is unique to us, and shall not be pigeon-holed into Western definitions of secularism.

We are a religious people. Deeply so. But that should be and remain at the level of the individual.

Our state is secular. Its institutions are secular. The government (should be) secular (but currently is not, and will never be - such is its DNA).

The Parliament is all of India's. Not just Hindus.

The President is all of India's. Not just Hindus.

The President is the Supreme Commander of our Armed Forces. Which fight for all of India. Not just Hindus.

Which are made up Indians of all faiths. Not just Hindus.

So please kindly keep your Jai Shree Rams at home or in your Mandirs. As the rest of us do with our own faiths.

India is not a Hindu country.

Cheers, Doc

India is secular because India is a Hindu country. Only morons & bigots would even begin to contract this fact.

I love your highlighted part.

Let me know which minority religions are keeping to themselves at their individual level? from the mosques with their loud speakers going off 5 times a day to Christian missionaries running even in high schools converting kids to RTE act applicable to only Hindu schools.....Please let me know where to start to prove that as a nation India is not secular, it's deeply anti-hindu.

LOL - Any educated person with half a brain would have to read the current RTE act to know whether we are secular or communal.

President is for all the nation but his religion is not for all the nation. He is the upholder of constitution, does not mean he looses his/her identity after he becomes president.
No one says a word when Secular CM's of India pose with namaz poses or with a skull cap and attend iftars. Let me know which part of this act is secular?

The double standards are staring in your face & all I am seeing is people preaching to Hindus to be secular while the so called minorities run rampant with in your face religionism.

bluntly put, the jai shree Ram today is the result of 70 years of pent up anguish. People can choose to pretend that Hindus have not been wronged in India. Reality though is that hindus feel that way.

LOL - Hindus don't even own our temples. That's how pathetic India secularism is.

. .
Finally!!! Its good that indian chosen politicans are showing their true motive and turn bharat mata into hindu rashtriya!!

Firstly, India cannot be a Secular and a Hindu country at the same time. It is a Secular country. Not a Hindu country. A secular country where the majority happen to be Hindu.

You did not understand what I said, or were too preoccupied with your litany of grievances to pause for a breath.

The President like any other private citizen of India has full right, given to him by the State and the Constitution, to follow his or her own faith freely. Within the bounds of rights and responsibilities, as well as the letter of the Law of course.

But the OFFICE of the President of India MUST BE SECULAR.

How then can you have chants of Jai Shree Ram during his swearing in. WITHIN THE INDIAN PARLIAMENT?

This is frankly not just inappropriate. Let me say what it is. This is blatant disrespect of the Indian Constitution.

As bad as if you were to put the Tricolor on the floor and stomp on it. AND MUST BE DEALT WITH SIMILARLY TO NIP THIS BS IN THE BUD.

Shame!

Cheers, Doc

India going down the the drain
Got good opportunity when they won with big numbers but instead of bring nation together they brought hatred, fear and divisions and making enemy inside and providing foot soldiers free to the external enemy.
