What's new

Ram Nath Kovind takes oath as India's new president amidst slogans of Jai Shri Ram in parliament

Firstly, India cannot be a Secular and a Hindu country at the same time. It is a Secular country. Not a Hindu country. A secular country where the majority happen to be Hindu.

WRONG.

India CAN be a secular country AND a Hindu country.

Like you said, We cannot be pigeon holed into the "western" definition of "secularism".

Hinduism unlike Abrahamic religions, do not restrict anyone from following their own path to god. The religion itself is Secular in nature, hence all those who practice it too.

You did not understand what I said, or were too preoccupied with your litany of grievances to pause for a breath.

The President like any other private citizen of India has full right, given to him by the State and the Constitution, to follow his or her own faith freely. Within the bounds of rights and responsibilities, as well as the letter of the Law of course.

But the OFFICE of the President of India MUST BE SECULAR.

And MP's shouting "jai shree Ram" does not make the OFFICE of the President of India any less "secular" :cheesy:

How then can you have chants of Jai Shree Ram during his swearing in. WITHIN THE INDIAN PARLIAMENT?

If religious freedom cannot be practiced inside the Indian Parliament, which is the very temple of freedom and democracy, then what is the point of democracy and freedom ?

As a matter of fact, India parliament is the ONLY place in India where Indians have absolute freedom of speech and they cannot be prosecuted for anything they say inside the parliament.

Read up on Parliamentary Privileges and Immunities in Indian Constitution

This is frankly not just inappropriate. Let me say what it is. This is blatant disrespect of the Indian Constitution.

As bad as if you were to put the Tricolor on the floor and stomp on it. AND MUST BE DEALT WITH SIMILARLY TO NIP THIS BS IN THE BUD.

Shame!

Cheers, Doc

LOL ........ Its a celebration of the Indian constitution and only Bigots who are butt hurt cannot bear to see this celebration of hindu freedom.

I will continue to enjoy seeing your frustrations and impotent rage in pdf. Do keep up your rant. :enjoy:

PS: Only a sick pervert like you would even talk about putting the Tricolor on the floor and stomping it. A testimony to your true character ( or lack of it). Same goes for the bigots who "thanked" your post. No surprise to see both were muslims.

.
India going down the the drain
Got good opportunity when they won with big numbers but instead of bring nation together they brought hatred, fear and divisions and making enemy inside and providing foot soldiers free to the external enemy.
What A lost
so MPs saying Jai shri ram is communal ! But MPs Attending a particular religion's festival is Secular. President House hosting party for a particular religion is Secular ! a MP badmouthing Hindu Gods inside parliament is secular !

Typical Secular behaviour.
Don't generalize. Give specifics of why India is secular and why Islamic nations are not?
Give specifics of what makes RTE secular.
Give specifics of the secular nature of Temple endowment act.

Secularism has become a very convenient tool to beat down Hindus, No wonder people of India prefer to called a b@st*** than be called a secular now a days.

Bigots of all hues rather be called illegitimate progeny than seculars.

Be specific.

Bigots of hues burdened with insecurities and long pickled historical grievances and carefully and lovingly nurtured collective sense of victimisation.

Never mind the fact that those doing the humping are long since gone, leaving behind a land and people who they part converted, large part did not and could not.

To be honest, I'd have huge respect for little men if they had it in them to right historical wrongs and go after the progeny of the people who did it.

Go after Saudi Arabia, go after Turkey and Iran and Iraq, go even after Mongolia and Greece, invade these countries, set up base there, colonise them. And then move on to Portugal, France and Britain.

Conquer the world as the world conquered you.

Don't act like fools and slap your own selves around and act like King Tuts in your little well.

I am proud to be fiercely secular.

Never mistake me for one of your kind.

I'd rather be bobbitized. Though still be more man than you.

Cheers, Doc

Does the truth hurt you?
You still have not shown which part of our laws of past 70 years make India secular.

Problem with your kind is that you are blatantly & rabidly communal, particularly with the Hindu hatred. To mascaraed this Hindu hatred you coined the term secular and brow beat Hindus using this as a weapon.

Don't worry about bobbitizing, it aint the forte of Hindus. You must look at the secular religions which are expert at this thing all over the world. Regarding being more of a man than me - first start being a human with a bit of empathy, which the Indian seculars sorely lack.

Are you again playing the sorry Hindu victim card here?

People are not fools you know.

Everyone can see clearly a rabid virulent section of which community is running amok all over the country.

My empathy and humanity is reserved for those who are weaker and in distress.

For those who are bullied and wronged. Denied respect, dignity and justice.

My humanity and empathy is based on ideals and a sense of right and wrong.

Not dependent on which God the other guy prays to.

Cheers, Doc - Proudly Secular

And I am sure you feel that Hindus/Sikhs/Jains/Pandits have not been wronged in India for centuries - Right?

How ironic that no one speaks a work when past presidents gave Iftar parties wearing skull caps but Jai shree Ram is communal.

I am done with you - Typical Hindu hatred disguised in many forms.

Two wrongs do not make a right.

An iftar party at a private residence is very different from chanting communal slogans in Parliament.

Run in the opposite direction and send the explosive disposal squads in.

Sorry it was just too tempting! :D

We are reaching near similar reaction levels with Jai Shri Rams now.

In 3 years ....

Like the Muslims and their clothes and beards and surma and caps, now Hindus are sporting ridiculously massive tikas on their foreheads.

This country is becoming a lunatic asylum frankly.

Cheers, Doc

If you have a historical trend to support it, be my guest to produce it here.

Ram Rajya (what we learn in history, and the general connotation) is that of a benevolent king. Happiness. Prosperity.

We are living through the diametric opposite right now.

Don't know what the Jai Shri Rams are for. Cruel joke?

Cheers, Doc

Hindu renaissance is just STARTING :cheesy: ......... if you think THIS is bad, wait for 10 more years as more and more Hindus become richer and more vocal and free.

What do you think will happen 20 years from now ?
