What's new

Rahul Gandhi won't be PM nominee, will lead Congress campaign

How many can BJP get ??? any chances of more then 1 or 2...

BJP vote share will increase in every constituency . Kasargod , Palakkad and TVM they will give a tough fight .

That's it realistically .

Modiji has good fan following in Kerala...

Even my Christian friend (who is currently working in Gujarat) is a big fan of Modi .

I understand many people's feelings here about Congress...but I personally think that a learned technocrat can serve as a better PM than a blabbering politician!

It didnt work out with MMS. And no idea why people are making a big issue of Congress PM candidature. Irrespective of who becomes PM, the remote will remain with the stupid Gandhi(fake) dynasty.

PS: And RG, a learned technocrat??o_O:suicide2:

My analysis of political parties for Lok Sabha elections

Story of AAP: What i understand there is a true belief in the story of AAP.. but AAP has its issues

For AAP: the clean image and a revolutionary new beginning story attracting talents from cross domain of industry and other fraternity

Against AAP: the lack of understanding how really governance works, populist measures over simple economics, too much limelight and dependence on Arvind Kejriwal and media/limelight loving image of party ppl with too much soundbytes limited work

Biggest threat: The inability to deliver as per ideology// something seen already.. and INcia Inc distancing itself as they see AAP as more populist then logical

Story of BJP: One Man - Narendra Modi

For: The development of Gujarat/Goa and promise of repeating the same in National lvl

Against: Single Guy focus named Narendra Modi (The US style presidential election of leader vs leader does nt work in india), the polarisation of community due to chequred past, not clean image (common with congress .. check yedurappa), too much sentimental beliefs of religion/nationality anti china/anti pakistan philosophy rather than understanding how to take or plan for the country to next lvl of development. [Gujarat model will not work Pan India]

Biggest Threat: Gujarat /Goa development are not 100% all inclusive growth// What is shown in media is the growth of limited sectors/population groups.. Narendra Modi is a gud man at state lvl but the rest of ppl who will become ministers with him at center if BJP wins, cant be said the same.. A slew of populist measures and the whole economy and Current Account deficit goes for a toss... So BJP itself is a threat to BJP

Story of INC: The new Gandhi family
For: The party is going through change.. albeit very slow.. The ability to induct new talent and make them good enuf to replace old war horses is the most important aspect of the new INC. Rahul gandhi had nt been successful in letting the world understand how INC now is different from INC before.. But Congress knows where it failed in last few years (read election defeats).. On top the party does have good tie ups pan india whether media says that or nt (Mulayam, Behenji, lalu all r still pro congress including down south parties). DOnt be surprised if third front does nt happen then you may see Nitish also siding with congress to keep BJP away Also the so called silent approval of Anna Hazare and lokpal bill passing works in its favour. The food bill will also work in their favour in interior india.. also globally congress finds more support then polarised nationalist BJP or odd revolutionary AAP

Against: The inability to communicate the truth.. Whther in case of coal gate, 2G or even now when policies or paralysed. The world is connected today. Indian Economy is nt resistant to slowdown but domestic economy could have been addressed via few reforms which are more bolder in nature. The old party folks who are occupying top seats are the biggest challenges. The anti incumbency effect is also an issue.. But their non communal and non polarised nature works in their favour

Threat: In-ability to make masses understand what it did and could have done.. the issues in coalition politics and not having absolute majority. MMS is nt a mute guy but by nature he is peaceful..

Surprise Pack: You may see P Chidambaram as next PM if INC wins... an economist succeeding another economist. Rahul gandhi will replace his mother Sonia and remain in Party position as president... That way he will hold the INC

Whom i am voting:
AAP - Big No.. no movement based on ideology had survived on what it began with.. power corrupts the mind of the holder. To really understand the true aspect of AAP, we need to give AAP 7-10 years to mature with at least 1 or 2 terms at state lvl to see whats the governance they understand.

BJP - Narendra modi is a one man but politics is like a cricket team playing together.. in today's match Kohli hit a century yet India Lost as others were not up to mark.. thats the story of BJP so since all other 10 players are not known risk cant be taken. And the players who are known (jaitley, swarajs, etc.. god forbid... 2nd or 3rd tier team comprising of domestic talents of Ranji trophy cant win world cup for country when they cant even face hostile pace attacks)

INC: A known devil is better than unknown.. if only they understand the responsibility they carry and make efforts to do things a bit differently.. something which can be done with induction of newer younger lot being in ministries and old guards at party. So another chance to INC for this time

Will use that 5 years to see if AAP is better then before or not/// also will take time to see who is next in BJP after modi.. i still miss atal behari vajpayee.. his heart was much more pure than all the BJP put together..

Thats my views.. no disrespect intended to any side

Heard somewhere BJP is planning to field O Rajagopal in TVM..... with tharoor in trouble he might have a chance in TVM.... Its true that BJP vote share is increasing but that growth is not enough to seal a seat in Kerala.....

If thats ur Views then Go and KILL YOURSELF... Atleast do the NATION a Favor...

Does that mean Congress knows it wont win this election?
LOL Congress has already lost in their own assumption...

It would be miracle for them if they some how help form a third front government keeping BJP away from power...(which is right next to a miracle)

Rahul Gandhi urges PM to give Jains national minority status - The Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Jain community could soon get minority status at the national level with Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi speaking to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday evening on the long-pending demand.

With Rahul taking up the cause, the demand is likely to be met soon which would place Jains in the league of five other communities — Muslims, Sikhs, Christians, Buddhists and Parsis -- who are recognized as national minorities under a central law.

As of now, Jains enjoy minority status in 14 states, but not at the national level.

States which have declared Jains as minorities are Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and West Bengal.

Minority status enables a community to run and administer exclusive educational institutions and derive benefits from the government's welfare schemes for minorities.

The minorities recognized by the government can also approach the National Commission for Minorities (NCM) for safeguarding rights and grievance redress.

Earlier in the day, a delegation of Jain leaders, led by minister of state for rural development Pradeep Jain, met Rahul, seeking his support for the notification of Jains as a minority community at the national level.

Jain Samaj leaders spoke to Rahul about their long-pending demand for minority status to the community and urged him to support their cause.

Recognizing the role played by the community in the social, cultural and economic development of the country, Rahul assured the delegation that he would do his utmost to ensure fair and equitable recognition and representation for the Jain community.

The delegation told Rahul that national minority status would help the community access central funds meant for welfare programmes and scholarships for minorities.

Women's empowerment should happen not just through reservation, but as a matter of principle: Rahul Gandhi

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will be interacting with women representatives as part of the manifesto consultation process in Bhopal. Several progressive legislations for women empowerment have been introduced by the Congress-led UPA government.

During its tenure the Congress-led UPA government ensured gender equality in government schemes, health, education, economic and social policies.

“Women have a vital role to play in the development of the state and the country. Women's empowerment is important for the development of the country," said Rahul Gandhi.

Union Cabinet gives minority status to Jain community

New Delhi: A day after Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi asked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to grant minority status to Jain community, the Union Cabinet on Monday approved a plan for the notification of Jains as a minority community at the national level.

Rahul Gandhi had on Sunday spoken to PM after a delegation of Jain leaders led by Union Minister Pradeep Jain met him yesterday to seek his support for the same.

Earlier, AICC had said in a release that Jain Samaj leaders had spoken to Rahul about their long-pending demand for minority status for the community and urged him to support their cause. "Rahul recognised the role played by the Jain community in the social, cultural and economic development of the country. He assured the delegation that he would do his utmost to ensure fair and equitable recognition and representation for the Jain community," the release said.

Manmohan Singh asks people to guard against divisive forces
Currently, Jains enjoy minority status in some states like Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan. Once recognised as a minority, Jains would get a share in central funds earmarked for welfare programmes and scholarships for the minorities.

At present, five religious groups - Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists and Parsis - are notified as minorities.
