April 04, 2015
ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has expedited its preparation for eagerly-awaited visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Islamabad, expected next week, to sign dozens of MoUs including nuclear power, Gwadar Port, Gwadar Airport, Pak-China Economic Corridor (PCEC) and energy related agreements.

Xi Jinping, who had postponed his visit to Pakistan due to the political turmoil last year, would hold high-level meetings and unveil several economic projects.
A committee, formed by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif under the chair of Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, on Friday reviewed the reception plan and security arrangements, besides being given an overview of the important agreements proposed to be signed during the Chinese President Xi Jinping's visit to Pakistan.

Sources informed The Nation that Pakistan and China would sign dozens of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements during the Xi Jinping's visit.
The agreements and MoUs include nuclear power, Gwadar Port, Pak-China Economic Corridor (PCEC), energy, trade and investment.
In energy-related projects, sources said that around 6000-megawatt power projects are likely to be signed.
A joint working group of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor has already finalised almost 6,000MW of power generation projects for their signing.

Meanwhile, the committee constituted by the prime minister regarding Chinese president’s visit to Pakistan, in its meeting chaired by Finance Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar here on Friday reviewed preparations for the visit.
Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal and senior officials of various ministries attended the meeting.

The finance minister was given detailed briefing about the responsibilities assigned to various ministries and departments for the conduct of the visit.
Receiving briefing about the traffic management plan, the finance minister said that alternate travel arrangement should be devised to avoid any inconvenience for the general public.

The minister emphasised complete inter-ministerial coordination for finalisation of all proposed Agreements/MoUs.
He called for elaborate arrangements for media coverage with due focus on pre-visit publicity, highlighting the significance of this visit which is expected to herald a new era of Pak-China cooperation with CPEC projects leading the way to economic prosperity.
Organising seminar and symposia with Chinese participation were proposed to highlight the visit.

The finance minister and the minister for planning and development Ahsan Iqbal also issued instructions for chalking out impressive cultural events during the course of the visit, which they said should be truly reflective of the national heritage.

Ishaq Dar on this occasion said a special committee was constituted to oversee the arrangements but the respective ministries and departments had their own due responsibilities to be fulfilled and they should keep active liaison among them and with the committee, updating it on the preparations.

Xi Jinping go to farmers's home, ask for their advice.
Although China develops very quickly, but there are still a lot of poor people.
