Who said they are obsolete? They are just not on par with other carrier fighters, but still capable to do the roles Gorshkov and IAC 1 are meant for, air defence and sea control around our coastlines.

and production is not cost effective for su 33

Su 33s were too big for Gorshkov and IAC1, that's why we couldn't get them.
