Question: How will AVIC position Hongdu L-15B vs JF-17B?

... In the third generation fighter competition, Hondu has gave Q7 to compete with J13 and J10. And now we all know that J10 has won.

Q-7 ??? I thought it was the swing-wing Q-6 ... Care to tell more, please?

L-15B is a different league compare to Yak-130/M-346. Dont be fool by its trainer associate. Just like JMSDF called Hyuga as destroyer. L-15B is designed as a 1.4M supersonic fighter/trainer. I can bet it can pull the same high G as JF-17. It thrust power is even more powerful than JF-17 with very favourable range, payload. The only bad point abt L-15B will be the smaller nose cone which may house a smaller AESA/PESA compare to JF-17.

Few things to be noted.
  1. Twin engines means more flying cost to be added inL15B.
  2. Radar coverage is less in L15B.
  3. L15B offers less arms compare to JF17B (because of same software used in JF17)
  4. JF17 is expensive then L15B
  5. JF17 can have option of mid air refueling and can cover more area.
  6. Both offers two types of engines.
  7. Both still in developing phase.
Please feel free to write if i missed any point

Q-7 is an air-superiority version of Q-6. Q-6 itself is a fighter-bomber to replace Q-5

Any more info on what changes were made to the Q-6? Engine, external changes?? ... and why does it still had an Q-designation?

Do You have an image, illustration or artwork?

Thanks in advance.

It is old rumor from CD forum, and has another designation as J-14, with new position of air inlet, engine changed to WP15, adding a pair of front wing. This is why Chinese 4th generation of plane can never been called J-14
