If we had been a bit more honest there would have been a lot more investment in pakistan by the Arabs but als we are corrupt to the core. Why this formula doesn't apply to ARAB Countries. They have money, resources. Why not they put investment on R&D and invites Pakistanis, Indonesians, Iranians etc. Instead they feel proud in making Hard Cash payments to westerns & will not even make a 10 km range radar for their defence. We Pakistanis do adopt one gen behind technology and try to make use of it. If sources are there for R&D how isn't possible that we make better equipments in every field.

I am not defending Arabs, but the Products you mentioned are nothing what Arabs have got, naturally no one wants a Product that is not the best of the best , while they can afford the best.

And what will happen when oil resources are dried up. Then what will they buy? JF-17 thunders?? Or something we will be making at that time and it will be still behind the western technology but they will need it then. Maybe we then change our mind.

Dont get it twisted. That money came from the gulf to allow Egypt to play the role of mercenary. Egypt is not wealthy by any stretch. Rather its economy is roughly the same size as Pakistans (perhaps slightly larger) being 21st and 24th largest respectively. That $$$ came as blood money for the Egyptian soldiers being used as cannon fodder by the gulf militaries in Yemen.

The arabs have their own problems. Their population is illiterate and lazy. They have too much corruption and want to keep their populace busy with their toys. The reason they get western toys is the bribes and other fun and games that come with these toys. Their needs are there but the heart of their population is not in struggling when they can get it easily. Things are changing but it will take time. But given the way things are going it may be a case of too little too late. You cannot do research with expatriate population as they have no interest in the country itself. The western powers also encourage them to take it easy to fill up their own coffers.

Please tell what is threat to Qatar from its neighbours. They will never go into war with each other as there isn't much need of it. And little threats that exists can be overcome by a moderate airforce. Yeah if there is need of any defence equipment it's with their navy.

The Qatari build up is both against Iran and an Unstable and unreliable Iraq. Now that Iraq has gone they worry more about the Saudi hagemony than anything else. Forget Israel. Their Queen at one time was great friend of Sivi Libby. At the moment they are not concerned about Israel but this will be to their detriment. But then do in the middle East as the Saudi does so why worry about being Israel's friend.
From an operational perspective they need to operate over the sea qnd therefore need twin engines for safety purposes.
