What's new

Qari Fasihuddin, Taliban's army chief called Durand Line a "hypothetical line".

I am glad that a Pashtun himself is saying this.

When I talk to dumb Pakistanis in real life and on social media and tell them that non-pashtuns and northern alliance people are more accepting of durand line and peace with Pak rather than the Pashtun/IEA/Taliban .... They blindly refuse to accept.

This happens when one doesn't read or understand facts but rather cloud their judgements based on their own perceived biases and bigotry.

They call them slaves of Punjab / Gul khan / tainted with Punjabi blood and other slurs.

You should listen to Gen Tariq Khan... He is himself a Pashtun and hates Talibans and have said that Taliban are not friends of Pakistan and more stability in Afghanistan will lead to violence over here.

This is because they have never met or talked to an Afghan. In Pakistan, they tend to hide behind us and act very nice to the other groups.

Their asliyat comes out when they leave Pakistan. The past summer (2021) of the whole Taliban takeover and the sanction pakistan thing they ran on social media proved to me their true faces.

I have gotten dm's from people calling me all sorts of things because I tell them I am "Pakistani". Wallahi go on any tik tok video that shows a Pashtun calling themselves Pakistani the comments are filled with Afghans telling them how they shouldn't call themselves Pakistani.

Every Pashtun "diaspora" social media page is hell bent on brainwashing Pak Pashtun kids to hate Pakistan. They would rather try to go against Pakistan despite doing something more useful like help feed their people, but again just like the past 70 years they will keep failing. I used to think long ago they were my kin, but their behavior has annoyed a lot of people I know.

I can tell I am kinda younger than the people who post on here. The younger Pakistani crowd, diaspora and motherland, are slowly realizing the true nature of Afghans. Combine this with the slow rise of secular nationalism among younger Pakistanis, this will only spill trouble for them.

Afghans can patch it up, but soon there will be a breaking point and it will be game over for them in Pakistan.

And your saying many of the Waziri people share their belief?

For the Pakistani Pashtuns that oppose the line, is it about just that lost pride of their past glory, or is it more to do with practical things like freedom to move across the line, etc?

Fo you think most Pakistani Pashtuns would defend the line? And if not what accommodations would make them likely to do so?

Waziristan, along with Chaman and Central Balochistan, is the HUB of anti Pakistani sentiment.

For Waziristan, they want a return to FATA and be left alone. They don't want to join Afghanistan. This is expressed by TTP leader Noor Mufti Maseed in his interview to CNN where he said he wants to free FATA. This can be even evidenced in history where in 1919 Maseeds started raids against British garrisons because there was a rumor they were gonna give their land to Afghanistan. In addition, Waziris have family in Paktia (Afghanistan) and have extensive tribal and familial links there. Thats why Kumar, Afg is the safespot for TTP.

"It has been asserted that one of the reasons for these raids was that a rumour had been spread amongst the Wazirs and the Mahsuds, that Britain was going to give control of Waziristan to Afghanistan as part of the peace settlement following the Third Anglo-Afghan War. Buoyed by this prospect and sensing British weakness, the tribes were encouraged to launch a series of large scale raids in the administered areas. By November 1919, they had killed over 200 people and wounded a further 200."

For the Achakzai in South Pashtunkhwa they see the border as a hindrance. They have family on the other side and want to make it easier to meet them. Hence, only political agitation by the Achakzai, no armed resistance.

The Pakistani Pashtuns that don't recognize the line usually fall into those categories.

The Pakistani Pashtun have defended the line against Afghan aggression before in the Bajaur Campaign

The only people that complain of shelling in Kumar are TTP members and sympathizers. All Pakistani Pashtun sided with the state when Operations in Swat and Zarb e Arb commenced. The only way I think that will change is if Pakistan invades Afghanistan, which will be very unlikely.

I wasn`t talking about you actually... i was pointing at some other members........ btw what do you think should be done? I myself have met many over the years n the markets overall Pakistan and i didn`t found them to be anti pakistan but that just my experience.

That is because you live in Pakistan. The Afghans there they camoflouge and act nice. The moment they leave Pakistan thats where they spread their venom.

Pakistan has to tread carefully. They should send back a certain amount of Afghans here to sort of "send a message" to Taliban. Taliban are very clearly playing a double game with us. Fauj needs to boost border capabilities and prevent snipers from gaining too much. Regular shelling would be good.

whats the sentiments in pakistani pashtoon community? ptm ?

Exactly! The equation is very simple

Afghan Taliban and IEA are the best option available for Pakistan's security and geopolitical interest in the region. There will be few areas of contention with IEA (everyone in Pakistan knew that, unlike libturds who think they found alchemy by stating the obvious). Pakistan should try to work with IEA and figure out a mutually agreeable working relationship at the border between two nations, without giving up on our core interests.

THIS is how modern state-to-state relations work. Navigating through best available options and protecting/advancing your interests while doing so. Pakistani fanatics on both sides are too childish to understand this. But to be honest, I have rarely seen religious fanatics arguing that we should hand over Pakistan to IEA. Its mostly secular-nationalist ret@rds who want Pakistan to bomb Kabul & wreck our relationship with IEA just because Taliban are baddie "bIGOtS" and dont allow nightclubs in Kandhar

Reading most of the commentary here... I'm baffled at the siege mentality of a plurality. A narrow tunnel and very touchy about the hallowed state.
Geopolitics is ruthless...
people born on a certain date and on certain side may have widely diverging views and self appraisal.
Larger wheels were at play, Afghauns and Kingdom of Caubul were a side show already, a curious one asks if English lived on the far side of Bengal ... or something to that effect. Europe had navigated to the shores of Sub Continent a few centuries ago, heck even before Moguls landed in Delhi.
Dark ages, that...

But here we are... and we still see through someone else's spectacles.
Macaulay says
"We must at present do our best to form a class who may be interpreters between us and the millions whom we govern; a class of persons, Indian in blood and colour, but English in taste, in opinions, in morals, and in intellect. To that class we may leave it to refine the vernacular dialects of the country, to enrich those dialects with terms of science borrowed from the Western nomenclature, and to render them by degrees fit vehicles for conveying knowledge to the great mass of the population."

So how do you unlearn the learned?
Afghan the misspelled Pashtun... only a line changes that... but there must be those on either side with the lense of continuity. A common ground should indeed be somewhere to be found.

Surely this can't be the end... US v THEM

What the situation with Chaman and Central Baluchistan?

whats the sentiments in pakistani pashtoon community? ptm ?

99% of Pakistani Pashtun community are pro Pakistan. PTM is only relegated to Waziristan and supported by diaspora Afghans en masse.

The amount of Pakistani Pashtuns that are getting annoyed of Afghan antics is increasing. Compared to 10 years ago, I have heard people's sentiments. They aren't very fond of the whole sanction Pakistan thing they did. The term "nammak haram" is thrown a lot now.
What the situation with Chaman and Central Baluchistan?

Chaman is where most of the Achakzai live. They don't recognize Durrand line, but only do agitation through political means. Mahmood Khan Achakzai for example. Mahmood Khan Achakzai's cousin was Abdul Razique Achakzai.

Central Balochistan is just filled with BLA and BRA sympathizers.

The only hypothetical thing is this thread..

It vanishes when you dive deep or to put it mildly it is an illusion that is not there

Perhaps let me put it in a language you can understand it is a qualified ''Indian tier news'' it was not only invented in a labratory but it was manufactured in state of the art workshop overseas.

According to an Indian doctor the Indian viral news only exists because of ''Low IQ'' otherwise it wouldn't have been an issue according to him which I tend to agree with who would consume a falsehood constantly unless he couldn't tell apart what is real or not hence it comes back to being you know... India was forced to set up multiple organistations and vigilante companies to only help verify news for these people and think for them..

Karzai and ghani were then Taliban are now. They made big promises that if they got govt they will do this and that. So far they cant even provide food to tgeir own people. All aid is being hoarded by Taliban and not a drop has been goven to ordinary afghans. At tge end of day it is a govt of molvis every one saw that list.

I am sorry but I don't know where you get your information. The information I have is that US is even holding Afghan 10 billion and no aid is coming to Afghanistan except what Pakistan is sending. Non-Molvis (Ghani and Karzai) were given billions and billions and no one knows where that money was spent except 350000 strong army that no one could find after US left. You do have something against Molvis that fine with me but put the blame where blame lies.

Ordinary afghan will not blame US for their misery but the current govt which is Taliban. The consequences of coming to power in a bloody coup will be on Taliban as well. Blame lies on US for holding money but that wont be how it will be precieved by masses. I coming months people will say US supported govt was better than that of Taliban. People dont understand international politics just their own needs. A kick to stomach makes one forget about micro or macro details.
