Russia had computerized bombing sight back in the 1970s. Assad army Su-22M3 fire control system has laser rangefinder in nose and digital ballistic computer which projects CCIP on a bombing display.

SVP-24 has no sight like the ones on Su-17 and F-16. As I said, the pilot does not look at the target. The pilot sleeps after entering the coordinates. The autopilot flies the plane and bombs the target under instruction from SVP-24. That's the beauty of GPS. It's really easy and requires no human action.

Computer do far more actions and more accurately than a human ever can. A human will never be able to match a computer at targeting. No matter how much training. That's why they don't use manually controlled missiles like SA-2 and AT-3 anymore. These days they only use computer controlled missiles.

You can see it's pretty accurate. 2 bombs. 2 hits on 2 buildings. Even if you use laser guided bombs with a well trained pilot doing the lazing, the result is the same. SVP-24 and autopilot basically turn the plane into a cruise missile. Except the plane does not crash into the target. The bomb does. Cheap and effective on static targets like buildings.

CCRP mode is also made by computer. There is nothing new about SVP-24 at all.

The accuracy of SVP-24 is nowhere near to laser.

Accuracy of laser guided bomb depends on how accurately the pilot puts the laser on the target. The plane is moving all the time. It's not an easy task. And exposes the pilot to enemy fire. SVP-24 makes a plane into a cruise missile except the terminal stage when the autopilot launches a bomb instead of crashing the plane into the target like a cruise missile's autopilot does.
