PTI to commence Hydro project 20,000MW electricty in Nya Pakistan

not because KPK cant do that , but power in Pakistan is controlled by National grid is Isb , any power installed is Added to the Grid & then distributed from there , So if KPK even managed to produce 5000MW in next 5 years it will drastically reduce load shedding , whose current deficiency is 6000MW .

And the Whole credit of Ending Load Shedding will be taken by PMLN ... that is also the reason SS did nothing in Punjab is past 5 years even though he not only had the resources but also the capability to do so.

in KPK , PTi will focus on Better Living standard , More Jobs , Industry , Education , & Police .

And Central will be left to deal with power crisis.

On nai yaar, provinces have the capability to generate electricity for themselves. They can also consider off-grid energy solutions in remote areas. Provinces can do a lot, only the will is required

These are only plans to launch projects not just start producing electricity out of the blue mooon. First comes feasibility, environment studies etc etc and then finally bidding and construction may take off sometime after 4-5 years. Even if KPK adds 2000MW in next 5 years thats an achievement from Pakistan and PTI.

Every provincial govt of pakistan have right to plant the project not above then 50 MW so if they are saying they have are planning for 20,000 then 50 multiply 400 Projects = 20,000 MW will be produced but You are going to start 400 Projects are you crazy or what if one project cost 10 million dollars then 10 multiply by 400 ..........4 billion dollars and where in the hell they are going to get 4 billion dollars?tell me that first All the PTI members have big mouth bla bla bla bla bla bla They have critized the punjab Govt not the federal govt so now its the time what KPK do? Come on imran khan acpt it you have big mouth nothing else even you can't keep the fonder members of PTI in the party. Ap Govt ka tu phir ALLAH hi hafiz ha

Sir 4 billion dollars is nothing because 20,000 mw of hydro powered electricity would cost at least 30-40 billion dollars. KPK government has a total budget of around 2 billion dollars each? and then next year imagine it will be increased by 10% and the 10% in the following years and it would barely have the money to pay off from the energy projects. What about everything else?

So basically the only solution is foreign investors and for that you need security in the province and professional management who can offer something to the investors... So basically planning to good project is a very good thing but you need money for the implementation. Not to forget, if the project is lucrative, even the federal government of Pakistan would be keenly interested in developing the projects and invest part of their money allocated for the energy projects

As I understand...a province can generate its own electricity completely free from the national grid. The province would then need its own distribution company.

This can be done, but I think the province would then also need to change its grid setup and power distribution network.

How is the KP Government going to achieve this? Consider the 2012-2013 budget:

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Agriculture, Arbab Ayub Jan has said that the government has prepared strategy for starting work on five hydropower projects.

Speaking in Meet the Press programme held under the auspices of the Khyber Union of Journalists (KhUJ) here at Peshawar Press Club (PPC) on Friday, he said that with efforts of the provincial government peace has been restored while under 18th Constitutional Amendment, the province has got autonomy and rights over its resources.

He said that the World Bank has also committed the provision of soft loan for the projects, which will be completed in a period of three to four years. The projects will generate 300 to 400 megawatt electricity.

This can be done, but I think the province would then also need to change its grid setup and power distribution network.

If a Province creates it own independent setup to Distribute Electricity .. then it is going to need a Huge infrastructure Investment , You need Cable + Transformers + Grids + Feeders + Support Staff + Technical staff , Which will cost more then Producting Electricity . Creating Electricity is easy , Distributing it is hard .

until & unless WAPDA Transfers Grid Control to respective provinces & gives then autonomy over its assets there , I dont see it Happening . Except for some Remote villages where there is no Infrastructure . or Tourist Spots Like SWAT .

Any idea on those projects?

We have to remember PTI here is talking about 20 Gigawatts, while country's entire installed capacity is 23 Gigawatts. If such a feat is achieved, it'll be like building a new country.
