Featured Project Azm: Pakistan's Ambitious Quest to Develop 5th Generation Military Technologies.

1- how accurate is the news
2- very good move honestly right move(good someone has brains)
3- engine from american source may become last minute headache
Either a european engine or ukrain russian or local one is needes
4- we should still work on j35 or chinese fifth gen as back up

Honestly we should collobrate on hurjet too for advance trainer and SAMs

Both countries if pool their sources can bevome formidable defense production due to their large market

Add in azeribhijan and few other close countries like malaysia etx you can form a consortium like europeans do
Watch the video it's head of TAI in Pakistan who is giving the news. So it's as reliable as it can get plus this interview was made to happen to by PAF guys for sure. It's their style to break the news.

Already posted and being discussed here.

Remember these idiots who were all doom and gloom.. I knew this thing will be in our service by 2029

So no China and J-31P?
How do you get the idea Pakistan will take only one type of stealth fighter? J31 is much near the completion and some sources say it is almost ready. While the TF-X/TPF-XX/JF-XX has still has a long way to go. J31 is a strong contender for PAF's next stealth fighter until TF-X is ready.

This is a very interesting development,
although many were speculating, and some were assuming the same since months.

What this means is that J-10 will be the last of chineese planes.
The rumor mill regarding China's stealth planes was just that, a rumor mill.

Now, i am wondering as this seems to be the case, how will the engine be procured or manufactured and who will do that?

I am also concerned on the weaponry that will eventually be integrated and used on this plane ? will it be of Turkish origin ?
if that is the case then Turks have some ground to cover.

I am also wondering which Radar and flight control system will be used ?

So, this news items has given rise to more question and answered very few.
No where it says J-10 is the last Chinese plane. Like how you assumed we going for TFX means we won't go for Chinese 5th Generation also.

Deal has been finalized several months ago, and not only TFX but we are going to be partners in developing SIPER long range high altitude surface to air missile system , which already tested in turkey few months ago

Risky decision if true, unlike China, Turkey has yet to design, develop, and manufacture a fighter jet, let alone a fifth gen type, as well as a jet engine.

Unless there's a tie-up between all three nations, and there's input from China, especially when it comes to the powerplant and avionics.

The program wont see first prototype atleast till 2026. I think by then Chinese options will be mature enough. And it won't be an issue for Pakistan to arrange Chinese engine.

this will be a better development if true

For this, we can wait for the things getting matured at TAI end where as if requirement arises much earlier than anticipation for e.g. India buys any 5th generation plane in the next 5 years than for a quick and reliable solution, we always will have Chinese J31/J35/even J20 option ready by that timeline.

There are around 100 engineers from BAE system helping the design process.

The worry is the engine, but hopefully USA give clearance on the use of GE engine for both prototyping and mass production phase

Saw a comment about American engines

Isn’t the TFX getting an RR(British) Designed Engine?

@Indos

Why US engine for TFX, we will have Chinese or Russian option. WS10A for our incoming J10Cs will be good evaluation for PAF that how reliable Chinese engine is

@Foxtrot Alpha brother why you locking major news thread there are gazilions of pointless threads flooding around but you lock one of the biggest news in the last 2 years thread.. As most don't come into this thread why lock the breaking one.. SMH
to keep discussion in one thread so those who are researching are able to find information with ease....
Forum has tools to export entire thread to a PDF document that can be used for research and analysis.
