Featured Project Azm: Pakistan's Ambitious Quest to Develop 5th Generation Military Technologies.

I think this is relevant enough for this thread:

Has there been any official confirmation of this?

.
I don't think so, a member here with inside connections has mentioned previously that there is zero Chinese involvement with Azm, or close to zero. IIRC.

Hi,

Welcome to the major weapons world youngman---.

Most people do not get the truth till their dying day and you think a member here would claim that.

Speak from a technical background---. China is the only pakistani ally that has a true 5th gen manufacturing and operating experience and you a 19 years old is telling me that does not count---.

Seems like you don't understand engineering---.

When you start an impossible project---you get all the tech help and know how from all the sources to start on it to succeed.

That’s not true.... China is helping Pakistan with required infrastructure to build 5th generation plane. Azm will have Chinese or Russian engine.

With this mentality we’ll definitely never be able to. If you don’t dream big you’ll never do something big. In Sha Allah Pakistan will prove everyone wrong and show what it’s capable of.
There is wishful thinking and then there is ground realities. For a 5th Gen fighter rather any fighter u need an industrial base where we lack far far more than we actually perceive. We are unable to run a steel mill and we are talking about highest grade parts for an aircraft.
Yes we can make softwares where we can excel but beyond that it's a dead end..

Wishful thinking is what gets you places. If you aim small you’ll get nothing. If you aim big even if you achieve 20% of that it’s better then aiming small. If our goal is just making softwares we’ll be stuck at that and never excel. If our goal is making a whole 5th Gen fighter jet even if we achieve 20% of that even if project azm horribly fails we’ll still experience and learn far more then if we aimed small and stuck to doing what we already know. Allah Azzawajal helps the people who try. We should try our best put our most effort into it and the rest is up to Allah Azzawajal. Never aim small always aim big and have ambitious goals.

Not really. Maybe you need to actually read up on control theory?
Seriously?lol

Debating with someone online is a privelage. No one owes you anything. It is a relationship built on mutual respect. If you are to be disrespectful, then you lose the privilege. Welcome to my ignore list, which is quite small. So you do have the privelage of being in there :)

Also, unsolicited advice: try to be a little more humble than you are. Maybe you're not the world expert on everything. It's a possibility that you should entertain.

based on or is J-31?

Hi,

Technically and tactically the J31 should be the project AZM.

From and engineering perspective---it does not make sense to start with something " your own " just because you want to---.

Yes u are right but to achieve that 20% how much financial input u need. Do we have lexity of spending that much to achieve that 20% of experience. Remember the saga of Tejas. We are not much sharper than Indians. Aiming high is not the problem

Indians learned valuable experience with Tejas project. Even if Azm fails the knowledge we’ll gain from it will be worth a lot. Money is the only issue but will be solved soon In Sha Allah because our economy is recovering thanks to imran khan.

Pakistan is probably holding out till the TFX comes out and matures a little to decide between the two. Waiting to see if the TFX features anything unique and decisive.

Maybe the PAF is also waiting to see if the Single Engine Chinese VTOL fighter develops, could consider a conventional variant (basically a single engine J-20) to save on costs and be able to afford it in large numbers.

Why would Pakistan need a VTOL fighter jet?

No offence to our Turkish friends but can Turkey really produce a 5th generation aircraft on their own? I am thinking we are overestimating Turkeys capabilities. Even Russia seem to struggling with the SU-57.

The first attempt will always fetch the most skepticism. However, Turkey's evidently investing in the necessary areas. They also have decades of aerospace experience. We just don't see it because their experience came via supply chain support to LM, GE, etc. If Pakistan wants to make an honest assessment, then they can observe what Turkey's doing for the Hurjet. However, I'm not really confident with our leaders assessing things honestly. @JamD
