problems with alkhalid tank

You seem to know more than the engineers that designed the tank. I mean what can i say??????
another armchair general. top engineer. strategist and analyst.
How Ironic. My statement maybe harsh but I pointed out genuine problem. Not saying Al-Khalid is mediocre tank. It can take T-90 head on. But there is always space for upgrade and change.
Who are you to say I'm a armchair general...?

I agree this guy may not be an expert but we should strive to improve continuously. ATGM's have improved a lot.... and its an arms race. The armor has to improve to meet it. My assessment remains that the ERA needs to be upgraded and applied to more of the tank to deal with current ATGM's.

look the initial analysis is done by a gamer. not an expert. he compares every tank to the latest technology available. go look at his videos on the Merkava and abrams. al Khalid got off lightly.
i agree that focus must be on continual improvement. Commander's thermal sights is essential. ERA that he is talking about may only have been for display purposes.

Why would anyone waste time on this gamer guys' videos.

Here is a video from a year ago where he calls Arjun as $hit.

And then here is another video posted two weeks ago where he calls Arjun the best tank.

This Eastern European idiot thinks he's too smart, that there are lot of emotional desis in both India/Pakistan who will clickbait the shit out of this and make him oodles of money. Do you see??

This is what happens when you go by title, and not bt content. The title of the second video is sarcastic.

His arguments are valid and carry weights. He epxlains everything.

Well I guess sarcasm is lost on the wary - like myself. Blame admitted. I will also blame it on the times we live in. :-)

How will you improve ERA when the latest Russian ATGM's have tandem explosive-warheads? The first defeats the ERA and the second following immediately after pierces armor and explodes inside the tank.

Bar armor helps some - but not a whole lot. Tanks are increasingly a losing proposition as anti-tank munitions improve and become smarter (and cheaper to boot).

You can fire a KORNET ATGM mounted on a cheap pickup with Tandem warheads and blow the turret off of an Arjun (ERA will not help), cook off the ammunition inside and spend only a fraction (if that) for the ATGM cost spent. And no personnel lost who fire the ATGM.

The Arjun will have cost $8 million to buy (probably more for the 2nd version) and there will be at least three trained crews lost inside the tank.

Better I think for both Pakistan and Bangladesh to concentrate on developing advanced ATGM's from both a strategic and financial point of view. We have some METIS M-1's now - don't remember if we have KORNETs.

@Ronin bhai will have better information.

Best for BD to acquire HJ-12, light yet ensures a kill in almost every scenario because of top attack.

Alas would be a great system for BD and Pakistan. 25km range would mean you could use them as recon platforms and hit tanks with them. Serbia will give TOT for probably millions of dollars as they did for the UAE. Here it is on the Nimr platform.

Today artillery can be great killers, DPICM is insufficient to penetrate tanks in the modern world but it can be useful against motorized, and mechanized divisions with less armored vehicles.

SADARM can take out armored divisions from a distance and I think will be quite useful when needed.

Go to about 1 minute and keep watching.
