it wasnt the Russians who said the syrian started bombing again straight away . it was the Syrian opposition ( terorrists ) who video it and reported it,

this U.S attacked achieved nothing with regard to military point view apart from destroying one fully operational plane . the rest of it was scap which it couldn't fly
all importent functional equipment were withdrawn from base before attack .

so on military point view not much but in political level and international level big achivment

As if the Syrian opposition knows where planes take off from to attack them, those were the Russians that reported it.

Wait a second, only one fully operational plane? Wasn't the Russian count 6? And American one 15?

Russia doesn't want to be the one responding militarily against other states as that hurts relations, they prefer if Syria does it, any damage will be on Syria then which is already 'fully' damaged politically in the image of the west. This is a similar concept to proxy wars where large powers support small groups to destroy the other large power (Vietnam war for example, Afghanistan in the 80's.. countless other examples).

The US administration had warned the Russians of the impending strike. So, it's unlikely that the regime would keep its resources in those bases for destruction.

The warning came right before the cruise missiles were launched.
According to the US, no planes took off between the warning and the strike.
Since it was in the middle of the night, it would take time to first wake the pilots,
and ground crew, then further time to prepare the planes.
The Syrians may have relied on that their hardened shelters would survive the attack.
