Umm, if PAF takes out SU30 bases (assuming minimum self losses), 100% of the job would done. Without SU30s flying in the sky, PAF can effectively smash IAF.

Disregarding all 156 MKI's (272 in all), India has around 120 Mig29 UPG/K, 55 Mirage 2000H's, 140 Mig27, 125 Jaguar Darins, 125 Mig21 Bisons,12 Sea Harriers - All BVR, all networked with Awacs... More than enough to decimate PAF sized opposition...

Might be, might be not. Since India don't have long range Cruise missile, it will definitely rely on Ballistic missiles to target Pakistan isn't it?

Most areas of Pakistan are within 300 Km range of Brahmos..

Well then there is no need to discuss airforce scenarios. Use of ballastic missiles will change everything to a much higher level.

That would lead to MAD.

But why not same level of response to cruise missiles since our is nuclear capable and your's will be too?

Due to short legs of PAF, we would inherently depends on long range LACM, ALCM and 700-1000 KM Ballistic missiles to target your strategic points.

Regardless, it depends on the ability of using those assets effectively. The MKIs do form a core and strong component of the IAF and without them the probability of "decimation" drops drastically.

Assuming your FOB destroyed and a constant CAP by PAF, Air and ground launched Brahmos wouldn't do much good. You would have to be at least 10-20 KM near to border to launch brahmos to achieve a good effect? Would you be able to do that?

Are you sure? The ones in Punjab and balochistan as well?

Not really true.. except quetta and may be peshawar, all major towns are around 200 km from Indian border as the crow flies

If the intention is to fly missions with gravity bombs .. then its going to be a one way mission.
But if the intention is to stick to stand off weaponry .. then equation changes.
