India, like Af.-Pak, remains a community oriented place, most continue with community opportunities. Upper caste and class UP Hindus and Muslims, Sharmas and Qureishis, continue with service jobs. If not govt., then NGO's. 2 sides of the coin.
Parsis, Marwari's and Ismailis do that with ancestral businesses. Bollywood oligarchs and Sikh transporters same thing.
All minorities everywhere have entrenched business ops and S.Asia is historically trading and manufacturing center along with China. Even in Europe, certain Protestant consortium went on to dominate businesses, specially upon migration to the Americas. Of all the above, only India has retained it's traditional caste, creed and community linkages and built a modern economy anchored not on religion, nationalism etc. Iike Af.-Pak. or China but on traditional bazaar clusters.
That's how things roll in S.Asia.
