According to twitter users 1 Policeman has died and more than 10 injured.

AAJ TV reports that a Police Double Cabin car was targeted, Aaj news reported.

Several cars and motorcycles have been completely destroyed in the blast.

Soon after the incident, police cordoned off the area while rescue teams arrived at the scene.

Bomb explosion near Karachi’s Civic Centre – The Express Tribune

KARACHI: A loud explosion was heard near the Christian colony, Essa Nagri, in Karachi
on Saturday evening, Express News reported.

The cause for the explosion is yet unknown, and emergency responders including law enforcement personnel have be dispatched to the blast site.

The explosion is reported to have taken place near a graveyard and mosque located between Essa Nagri and the Civic Centre, the nerve centre of Karachi’s civic administration.

The sprawling exhibition hall, Expo centre is also located in the same area.

The explosion was loud enough to be heard for miles away, and a smoke cloud could be seen rising from the site.

KARACHI: Metropolitan Commissioner Matanat Ali Khan and his guard were injured as an explosion occurred in his car near Essa Nagri graveyard, here on Saturday, police said.

According to the police, two motorcycles also got damaged as a result of blast.

The injured persons have been rushed to hospital.
