Powerful explosion in Karachi

Without targeting local Militant gangs they cannot launch any open action against TTP or other foreign proxy militants in Karachi, Which means that Karachi is becoming a save breeding heaven for all kind militant groups . Army could not stay away in this situation for long . Urban Guerrilla Warfare is worst kind of shape in any sense of conflict and as more time these militants get , They will get stronger and smarter.

Well said, but is very complicated to evacuate militants,as Karachi is sandwiched b/w TTP and Local political parties, like MQM etc.

KARACHI: An explosion inside a house near Patel Para has killed four alleged
bombmakers and injured one more on Saturday afternoon.

Express News learnt that a high intensity blast took place inside a two-room apartment situated on the top floor a three-storey building under construction in Patel Para in Jamshed Quarters. It has left a one foot deep crater at the site.

The official statement from the police maintains that the blast occurred due to an accident during an attempt to manufacture a bomb. They pointed to the presence of ball bearings on site as evidence for the claim.

The Chief of the Counter Terrorism and Financial Crime Unit of the CID, SSP Raja Omer Khattab told Express Tribune:

“No, doubt, it was the terrorists hideout but we have yet to ascertained which group it was. We have also found the clothes of the women and children from the house but no woman and child was presented there at the time of blast.”

Amongst other things, a sweep of the blast site also discovered cell phone batteries and SIM cards among other things.

The preliminary investigations so far have found out that the 40 sq yard house was owned by Munawwar aka ‘Munnu’, a nephew of the Soldier Bazaar SHO Raheemullah.

Munawwar had rented the house to a person named ‘Matinullah’ on a reference of his neighbour, Amir, about two weeks ago.

In the immediate moments after the blast, Matinullah and Imran were the two injured men taken to the Civil Hospital. The police had immediately taken custody of Imran as one of the suspects and shifted him to an undisclosed location. Subsequently, Matinullah died of injuries, increasing the tally of casualties to four and leaving Imran as the only alive victim of the blast.
