That is, it now includes your spending on Health and Eductaion. Meaning 'minimum' nutrition that you get is also a factor now. Being 'rich' deosnt mean ur not under BPL.

So, these 100 million peope didnt come under BPL because of economic boom. infact, economic boom helped 457 million people to come out of poverty, which is second highest in world after China.
Actually, I'm very certain India uses a lower poverty line scale as compared to the World Bank & the IMF. The World Bank chooses $1.25 a day as the poverty line, I read somewhere that India uses 500 rupees a month when it does its own statistics.
