China will not be objected by India for its exploration in the Indian Ocean and China will not object Indias exploration in the South China sea.
We object to any country infringing on our EEZ in the South China Sea. It's not India specific.
The Nansha Islands are Chinese territory even though some countries have illegally occupied some of the islets / reefs starting in the 70's. "Republic of China" has been in control of the only real island (Taiping Island) since 1945. We claim EEZ in South China Sea based on sovereignty over Nansha Islands.
The situation is not at all analogous to Chinese exploration in non-EEZ areas of Indian Ocean.
Sorry budd but you didn`t have any power to stop it, ANY means ANY.... not even voting power..
it`s pathetic no?
We can contain you with our military power. You are too close and too weak to play hardball with us. See this
thread and
this post.
The truth is that the Chinese government has started playing second fiddle to the PLA which now decides on foreign policy matters and security issues. Here's what I wrote on another thread...
It is a fact that the Chinese military has started asserting itself over the government. In March this year, Gen. Liang Guanglie stated that the PLA was not under the government, but under the Communist Party. He made it abundantly clear that the PLA was independent of the Chinese government. In the last two years, especially in 2010, it appeared that the PLA, while remaining under the agreed framework of “the Party commands the gun”, was pushing for a major say in both internal security issues, and external security and territorial claims.
The Chinese government is fast losing any control over the PLA which now has the last word on foreign policy and security issues. And therefore the belligerent attitude towards its neighbors. China is fast approaching a point where it would be at war within itself! Not a good sign at all!
That is only partly correct. CCP is not monolithic. There are hawks and there are doves. The doves have been in power for 10 years. But their weakness has only encouraged neighbors to take advantage of us. This has led to a nationalist backlash in China, leading to the rise of the pro-military hawks, who will take power in March 2012.
It's not that the PLA is acting outside of Party orders. Rather it's that pro-military hawks will have the upper hand in the Party very soon.
Yes....
somebody got scared

sorry there to disappoint you there, the people are no longer Tibetiens, they are Tibetien Refuges and are now Indians we do not expel people out of our countries who are afraid of going back to China. At the same time our agrement with them is clear thta we will not tolerate any terror network against China and will take action against any such network if it tries to get a life.
You have been deceived by GOI propaganda. Tibetan exiles have been actively undermining Chinese rule in Tibet since the very beginning, with help from Indian security forces and the West. Now they are getting bolder as the old man is about to pass on. You don't seriously think they are all peaceful and non-political over there in Dharmsala?
As far as Tawang is considered, its a part of India and people are interested in staying as a part of India and a small place like Tawang should not hinder the bilateral relationship that is boosting our relationship.
Again, you have been deceived by GOI propaganda. Even if they might not jump for joy at the idea of rejoining China, people in Tawang do not consider themselves Indian either. They are not even Hindu.
How can you possibly believe GOI claims that Tawang residents are "happily Indian" when India uses it as a forward operating base for the army and is moving Indians into the region to change the demographics?
Tawang is definitely not negotiable. Indian army must withdraw to have peace with China. China may be willing to refrain from immediately occupying it, but rather leave them alone for a few decades to get used to the new situation.
Don't take every challenge at face value.
When someone consistently plays up Muslims as bloodthirsty invaders of India and portrays Chinese as racist, belligerent warmongers, we can be smart and look beyond the poster's flags.
I know you are smart enough to know what I am saying.
LOL...... why are you ashamed to confront me directly? I never said Islam did anything wrong in the subcontinent. It was bloody, that is historical fact. But was it wrong?
Indians see the world through the prism of the caste system. Indians think Chinese are a lower caste, lower than Dalits. So they naturally hate us. It's obvious on this forum. I imagine they thought the same way about Central Asians 1000 years ago. Like the 1962 forward policy, just because Indians lost, doesn't mean they are the victims. They may have provoked the conflict. So I pass no moral judgment on Islam's history in the subcontinent.
The Claims on Aksai Chin cannot be a part a of pre condition, but could be a part of solution. As time goes, China will for sure see far assertive India than it is witnessing now. If China wants to fight US or wants to be considered a world power, it would like India and other countries in the region such as Vietnam, Japan, Australia, Philippines etc.to be neutral. So essentially the overtures have to come from China and not India. But, unfortunately China is acting otherwise.
LOL........ you think China is like India. We don't "want to be considered a world power" like an egotistical, insecure braggart (who shall remain unnamed). We just naturally develop on our own, but for some mysterious reason, this upsets USA and other countries around this.
China is FAR FAR too powerful for India to do anything about. Either step out of the way, or you'll get
smashed into many smaller countries. Simple as
that.
