Bro, these people were portraying a man they don't even know about, who was born and died more than a 1000 years from now. I would be okay if they have any disagreements with what he said but uprightly making a single poster of him, in which he is showed an exact opposite of what he actually was in reality is not even a "disagreement" or even an insult. It's pure hatred against that guy.
Don't forget that the Nazis too used to make propaganda poster against the Jews and how everyone condemned them in that time period and in this one too. So, the question is, why waive the flag of "Freedom Of Speech" when there is not "speech" at all except for that of hate. Do you, of all people, support this too? This is my question to you.
lets keep the nazis out of this for the debate - it will derail the debate
I applaud your maturity to talk about the points that you think are bad.
what is your issue if they hate the guy? (I am not sure if they hate him - as far as I am concerned, I mock at many religious beliefs not because of hatred) You revere the prophet - you want to , you need to - for your religious purposes. Why should they follow the same reverence as you?
So,
calling Gandhi any bad word won't be an "insult"?? What world do you live in?? There is no talk about "religion" going on. This whole case is on the defaming of a single person so loved by many people, who brought in religion? Are you viewing the same thread as ours?
First of all, what do you mean by "lots of countries"??? If two or three countries do what you saying, how does that turn into a "majority"?? The rest of your post is just ranting so I will ignore it.
I respect Gandhi for what he did. You are free to disrespect him - you will offend the other people and they will disagree with you. and you can call it a day because of whatever difference of opinion you have.
Or, you can have a respectful debate as to why you have such different views and try and understand - and hence build bridges.
But if you force "you have to respect gandhi because I do" or "you cannot say <choice words> to gandhi because we respect him" then that is forcing someone else to adhere to your view.
Will you, as a muslim, refrain from calling idol worship as blasphemy? It is insulting to many people in the world. Is it not? But rightfully, I cannot ask you to believe someone else's rules.
But then, at some point, we all have to have rules so we dont over run each other. right?
Thats where the rule of the land comes in. And thats where you try to not get religion into it, because that will be unfair to people of other religions. And then all people accept to following these "common rules" (also known as common civil code).
In public, and against each other, we are required to follow the common civil rule. The speaker in the video says - if you cannot follow this civil rule, please go to a place where your rules are more in line with the civil rules.
