Would the GHQ abandon Pakistan's nuclear programme?

The reason the Pakistani nuclear program safety is consistently rated as very safe by the Americans has to do with the unprecedented access and tracking of Pakistani assets by the US.

100%.

The civilian government is more likely to sell the nuclear weapons than the military. Keep in mind, anyone who tries to negotiate to decrease the capability of the nuclear/chemical/biological weapons of Pakistan is a clear traitor, it doesn't matter what our situation is, so let not any excuse to deceive you. I would say its the biggest achievement after the creation of Pakistan. We should be testing ICBM, building nuclear submarines, long range nuclear cruise missiles, MIRV missiles, working to go space in order to increase our capability. The enemies must know we will destroy anyone who dares to look at Pakistan with the evil eye.

Regarding traitor generals, the MI and ISI job is to identify and eliminate exactly these type of people, if people say MI and ISI are compromised then let's be very clear, its already too late.

Pakistan is already full of traitors and that includes the Pakistani generals. What we have witnessed in the past half year or so is an eye opener. Pakistani nuclear weapons never belonged to Pakistan. The Americans fully control these weapons.

Have you guys noticed how Pakistan went from 24/7 pariah to all has been forgiven?

Yep remember how they forced Dr AQ Khan to admit "his guilt" on TV?

That was Mushsrraf. But he refused to handover AQ Khan to USA. Despite them asking his exile .
Mushsrraf in a later interview told his reasons. He said he was unaware of AQ Khan helping other countries or making technology swaps. As he helped Iran for Centrifugal design, which was a mistake. And NK for rocket design in return of navigation system.

The military was involved in that scheme of proliferating technology beyond Pakistan.

When they got caught, they blamed it on AQ Khan.

No I don't think so. Because they also play a nuclear card to get funds from the West. It's like look if we go bankrupt and unstable our nuclear assets may fell into wrong hands I.e daesh, taliban etc and the whole world will be in danger. So give us another loan of $3 billion for renovating the whole DHA.

Nukes are a good card to be used to get IMF loans.

Despite Pakistan’s economy going down to the dogs the defense budget increased in Rs terms and in % of GDP terms.

Afghanistan is a good neighbor to extract maximum aid from world powers.

Any future requirements of bases or drones corridor and Pakistan will be at the forefront of providing its services.

Pak nukes have proven to be the most useless nuclear deterrent in the history of nukes. Pakistan is already a junior partner in Indian regional domination under the American colonial auspices. That's why you see seasoned hindutva singhis coming out of the woodwork to defend napak army.

The nukes didn't deter India from making the sellout generals from practically surrendering to India, short of invasion of Pakistan, India has defeated Pakistan on every front so much so that the previous traitor COAS of this napak army couldn't even ensure his tanks had adequate diesel and cited this very reason for surrendering to India.

Another traitor COAS, a generation ago couldn't rely on the same nukes to prevent going into stone age and brought onboard two decades of destruction, drones, killings and economic meltdown.

So, it's not a matter of will they surrender the nukes, they've already done so by rendering them inconsequential.

Nobody will give up anything. What might happen, in a scenario of extended financial distress is, there won't be adequate maintenance and training of people. Over long time, this will reduce the reliability of the systems and then they may 'retire' them for being untested and unreliable. That is how old military systems end up. No body throws them away, they just slowly deteriorate into junk. In case of nukes, it is not the weapons that may deteriorate fast, it is the launch systems. Without constant maintenance and training, they will rot away fairly quickly.

Found this poll on Facebook.

Question reads "If America and the West asked Pakistan's military to finish its nuclear program how would the army respond"

Option 1: they will finish it (75%)
Option 2: they won't finish it (25%)

The replies show just how the mighty have fallen.

America does not care as long as your nukes are under control of your army and not used to threaten anyone

Yep remember how they forced Dr AQ Khan to admit "his guilt" on TV?

He was a scapegoat. Your army did share nuclear technology with North Korea, Iran and Libya. Libya and Iran hung you out to dry by sharing information

A nuclear disarmed Pakistan would be in America's interest.

I'm aware of that

Only a matter of time until sold out generals give up nukes on Daddies orders. Just as these duffers are selling missiles to Ukraine on command. These traitors don't have Pakistans best interest at all. They would sell their mother for the right dollar amount

for dollar they have already sold their country, nukes will give them the highest amount ...

They are already selling state assets for peanuts right now. If anyone says they won't sell our nukes, they are out of their minds.

If you dispassionately extrapolate over a few more yours, you will realize it is in everybody's interest. How confident can one be of political stability 5 years from now? 10 years from now? looking at, say, past 5 years.
