The rise of EU skeptics all over will make sure it's destroyed. Why would Turkey want to join some thing that is declining in influence when it is rising economically and politically. :what:

What's the idealogy of Modern Turkish Republic?
You think with Erdogan in charge, there is something left of that?
Think of the way we are heading, then come back and tell me about our idealogy.

No union.... but a ballanced relation with all of them

since the fact is ironically some how we are connected to all above mentioned gourps - unions, sadly we dont really have that much in comman with any of them as well including ''muslim world', europe or, even with our Turkic brothers. we are unique and lonely... damm this sounds deprassive

Than, Either Erdogan is totally wrong for leading undecided turks in an abyss or the father of modern turkey......in both cases truks lost the right to lead the future Ummah in this grave schism:coffee:

This!

Turkic countries shouldn't have any strong ties with backwards Shariah countries and their stone age mentality like many Islamic countries
That's right. What's the point in having a union with bunch of backwards, based on Sharia?!!! That's moronic !!!

@rmi5

Im saying shoot for the Turkic Union then after that slowly include other muslim countries based on their situation. For example they should have a stable economy, have a political system that conforms with ours, they shouldn't be low tech (Bad infrastructure, people can't read etc.) Potential muslim countries would be malaysia, indonesia, bosnia, albania and maybe some arab countries after a while.

Also in any union I think that the individual member states would want alot of independence in running their own countires.

Malaysia, and Indonesia? seriously? they are bunch of backwards as well, and are located thousands of miles away from Turkic lands. Bosnia and Albania are also very secular countries and they like to join EU, and not any other union. Except for turkic countries, only Iran has a good potential to be ally with, and such alliance cannot happen as long as mullahs have the power in Iran.

You are very unlucky that you know nothing about your history.
M.Jinnah wanted the same(secular republik)for Pakistan had he lived for a couple of years more.
We would never want to be in any Ummah!
There is no Ummah and there will never be one,so dream on.

OK, you can be the leader of your own imaginary ummah. Thanks for the offer, but, turks are not retarded to join to ummah. keep the mess for yourself ;)

What's the idealogy of Modern Turkish Republic?
Secularism, humanism, and pan-turkism in an extent.

Turkic union. Have good trade and neutral politic relationship with EU and Arab countries, and gradually increase co-operation/integrity with Azerbaijan and then later on with Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan. Today's Turkic dictators (from Soviet times) will go at a time, but i bet the younger generation will be more nationalistic, unless Russia seeks to influence certain people. As long as our people want it, nobody will be able to hold us up forever, even if it might take 100 years or more. Lol at people claiming Pan-Turkism with racism, it's our right too to form an union with our fellow Turkic countries.
Given their circumstances, they will do what's the best for them, but if they knowingly sacrifice their long term sovereignty for Russia, it will be game over for them. If they stick with Russia for now and later on switch to a possible Turkic union, no problem imo. Let Turkey and Azerbaijan make a solid positive move first (which, im afraid, wont happen with akp in Turkey), then other Turkic countries' interest will slowly grow like a rolling snowball, i think. Especially significant projects like trans Caspian pipeline project would bring Turkmenistan definitely closer to Turkey and Azerbaijan. we really should't be surprised if some Turkic countries make decisions in favor of Russia if Turkey can't mean anything for them in certain fields, those people wanna make progress and develop too, and Russia is unfortunately whom they can economically depend the best on.

Who can get it is based on the countries situation. Im not saying that they join on day 1. Maybe they dont even want to join. But the main goal should be a turkic union.

Dont forget there are still Turks in Bulgaria so keep your eyes on the balkans too.
