This @Joe Shearer is what I refer to as the degradation of values no kakul graduate could wet dream of.
I hope this circus goes on. Will degrade the discipline and resultantly command and control structure of Indian armed forces. You know why Egypt lost the 1967 so badly? Highly politicised Officer corp, that prevented good decision making. The Egyptian soldiers fought valiantly for the record. That’s why Sadat made it a priority to bring back professionalism in the Military.
Absolutely disgraceful by IAF and needs to be seriously looked into and investigated. Indian Army prides itself on not choosing sides in politics but this video clearly shows the opposite. Bharat Mata ki Jai is completely fine, and in fact rousing, but the call of Modi Jee Zindabad is plain stupid.
If you observe, even the students gave a very muffled response to the Modi Jee chant as opposed to the Bharat Mata ki Jai 'naara'.

I think the students conveyed the right message. They cheered for India and abstained from cheering for any individual, because let's face it you can't fool them. The evacuation was not a)unprecendented and b) a result of an individual's effort.

1. As Kedar said it was nice to see the muffled and inactive response of students to this official ( who ? ) when he forcibly wanted the students to glorify Modi. These students were the ones to suffer because of the late evacuation by the Indian government so they will be naturally reluctant about Modi glorification.
2. I agree with DrJekyll that these students be given new birth certificates with Modi's photo of him feeding peacocks in his official residence because after all it was his heroic efforts that gave the students a new birth, so what if the students had a minor trouble here and there and so what if other countries like Romania and Slovakia gave these students aid after they had crossed over by walk or other means. When Modi's minister Jyotiraditya Scindia declares in a Romanian city that he fed and sheltered the students somehow despite the mayor of that city correcting him that it was his efforts that fed and sheltered the Indian students we patriotic Indian must support the Indian minister of course !
3. About "Bharat Mata ki jai" slogan @-blitzkrieg- is right that Indian Muslims are not fine with that because of the connotations of Hindutvadi majoritarian supremacy over India and concept of idolatry being promoted through it. Even non-Muslim progressives wont' be comfortable with that slogan especially when the country's constitution's preamble declares India to be a Secular and Socialist country. The secular and simple "Jai Hind" should replace it. "Jai Hind" was the battle cry of the Azad Hind Fauj founded by Subhas Chandra Bose and since Modi so recently did the fake patriotic drama of inaugurating Bose's statue to be installed at some point within India Gate in Delhi, he shouldn't have objection to changing "Bharat Mata ki jai" slogan to Bose's secular and simple battle cry slogan "Jai Hind" and in addition Modi also claims to work for all communities through his slogan "Sabka saath, sabka vishwaas, sabka vikaas" ( With the support of all, with the trust of all, doing the welfare of all ).

The developing story in the minds of Bhakts is that if students want free flight out of Romania, they should be willing to allow some publicity to the government also (read: government = Modi ji)
Never mind that the government has done little to get the students out of a conflict zone. They were able to 'help' only once the students were already safe.
And it is only Bhakts that can put a price on the seat of an airplane that is bought by tax payers' money, flown by an air force that is paid by tax payer's money. Because Bhakts always pay for everything, right?
So the price of a one way ticket from Romania is basically the price of freedom of speech to criticise the government.
