He's right. Police in SAsia (and indeed every 3rd world country) is brutal and doesn't give 2 hoots about 'human rights and such nonsense'.

And the comparison with Taliban is disingenuous. For the Taliban, flogging people in the streets is a routine thing. For police forces in western countries it is an uncommon occurrence when policemen violate their laws.

Well it depends, which Taliban are we talking about.
Talking of geniun Taliban who fought against warlorsds of northern alliance; and have no relationship with TTP. Yvonne Ridley is one example.
We all know before 9/11, Afghanistan was open to every foreigner, men-women, alike. There were religous codes imposed by Taliban state more or less same as Iran or SaudiArabia, india etc.
TTP lead by mehsud is capable of any thing, it is an army of war children genetically modified in Afghan jails by indians in last 7-8 years.
Of course indians were supplied this bio-tech by there allies, direction west.

Unlike in pakistan, there will be action taken against this sheriff and his *** will be kissed goodbye and the women will defiantly get compensation.
