Yes we are ....and I would wish POF should join with CZ and Norinco make their own Pistol, SMG, Assualt Rifle and a squad MG to be adopted by all the three armed forces ....we are burning bucks on importing all these things from US, Austria, Belgium, Germnay, Turkey and China

Yes but I think our policy about smaller Arms is when you can get them with TOT why waste time on designing on our own

Lolz ....Few months ago I went to the market to buy some 9mm rounds ...I faced on FTF on those hastily done rounds ...The Chinese, Czech and US rounds were shining and performing awesome ...I loved the Chinese rounds myself ...they were low cost and high performance ...but the over all winner was US rounds ....no big residue in the barrel afterwards ...Shaheen rounds are excellent no doubt ...specially the Green color BB round is awesome ...! See the finishing of PK-9 pistol (Beretta Clone) and would want to throw it away ...

It's a pretty good deal, considering it's only 30k. And it's much better than those darra clones. The darra one's may look good, but they explode in your hand. Anyone who uses a darra pistol, is playing with their life.
The foreign rounds you mentioned are good, no doubt.

Like you say the finishing is crap ...why it is so ? why can't we make it excellent in every aspect...? why it has to compared to the Darra standard keeping in view that POF is the only official arms producing facility functioning under Pak Army ? I would have fired many asses within the POF if i had some authority over them ...never liked their way of doing things !

Chambered in 7.62mm DMR-MK1 is the new Designated Marksman Rifle built by POF, which features a free floating 20 inch cold hammer forged match grade bull barrel. This DMR is best suited for medium range Sniping for up to 600 meters with great accuracy, which makes it ideal to cover incursion teams in close theater of operations as well as in urban warfare. This cost effective, affordable, easy to produce deploy and maintain, DMR is inspired by the much reliable HK-G3 frame and is compatible with a range of scopes and night vision/thermal optics. This DMR is a new development from POF which has recently passed its trials and now is in production at Pakistan Ordnance Factories Wah. This rifle is also likely to be offered for exports.

Why does the Title say short range? 600m is quite a healthy range to begin with, G3 is an excellent frame, and with the free floating barrel it looks like there was some inspiration from PTR 91. If PoF exports this puppy, I am getting one.

This will fill up a critical gap we had by not having enough dragnovs or similar DMRs.
