This cutting cakes ceremony is so cheesy specially with long live friendship message. They do this with every country they visit.

i have eaten this cake on PNS ZULFIQAR and PNS SHAHJAHAN it was good .it seems ship chef is aware of this for every trip

Cakes are associated with birthdays or wedding. Pakistan is prob the only retarded country that cuts cakes during exercises with nations who dont give a fuk about Pakistan. in western countries (at least in France) cake cutting is done only at birthdays and weddings.
In military circles, there is no cake cutting.
This cake cutting is our westernised mithai (barfi, gulaab jamen etc).

About long live friendship, wasn’t the German who refused to sell us their submarines (I could be wrong on this, as I don’t remember correctly what were the issues).

Cake aside you have got your facts wrong regarding the German sale of Subs. It was PN which backed out rather than the Germans who had gone ahead to even organize the necessary loans for the sale. The PN wanted certain changes which the Germans refused to do. The Chinese came along with their design and PN could get a lot more for their money so they backed out of the deal. At least this is how I remember the story going.
