Bro Gwadar is over 600km from Karachi. The ship would have to travel at over 300km per hour to make it in two hours. There is no ship in the world that can travel that fast!

Ferries can be pretty cheap and fun to travel, a shipping line called VikingLine shuttles between Stockholm Stockholm and Helsinki and a few other destinations in the Baltic sea and many times they offer free or very cheap tickets to their members since there business model is to earn from the onboard restaurants and tax free shops and the cargo.
If I have time, I prefer travelling with ferries / cruise-ships especially to and from the Caribbean.
On Thursday, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has welcomed the proposal to start a ferry service between Karachi, Gwadar and Oman’s capital Muscat.
During a meeting with Dr. Yahya Mahfoodh Salim Al-Manthri, President of State Council of Oman, at the PM House, the Prime Minister said “This initiative will start a new chapter of friendship between both countries”.
The prime minister said the ferry service would provide an affordable alternative source of transportation for a large number of people who travel on these routes on a regular basis.
He said Pakistan and Oman are natural allies due to geographical proximity between the two countries. The PM added that our leadership, government and the people of Pakistan hold the brotherly people of Oman in high esteem.
Nawaz Sharif said that Pakistan is grateful to Oman for its support with the Pakistan-GCC Free Trade Agreement.
Regarding the citizens and their relations, the prime minister expressed satisfaction that Oman was hosting a sizable Pakistani diaspora working in various sectors. Pakistan can further provide both unskilled and highly professional manpower in various fields including medicine, engineering, information technology, accountancy, education and technical workers, he added.
The prime minister said both countries could benefit immensely through mutual exchange of experts in the field of education, science and technology. He invited Oman to invest in energy related projects, infrastructure development and consumer based industry in Pakistan.
Omani delegation comprised of Sheikh Hamed Mohammed Abdallah Bahwan Al Mukhaini, Member of the Education and Research Committee; Mohamed Ahmed Ali Al Rawas, Member of the Culture Media and Tourism Committee; Dr. Ahmed Sulaiman Saleh Al-Maimani, Member of the Economic Committee; Wafa Salim Ali Al Harrasi, Deputy Chairman of the Social Committee, and Dr. Aisha Ahmed Yousuf Al Washahi, Member of the Social Committee.
Mian Raza Rabbani, Chairman Senate of Pakistan, Senator Taj Haider and other senior officials were also present.
