Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Monday said that on his return to Pakistan, he would try to expose the external elements behind terrorism.
The PM said the Taliban have disowned the latest devastating blast in Qissa Khwani bazaar in Peshawar.
Talking to the media after arriving in London from New York, the PM said the strategy would be revised regarding Taliban talks after his return to Pakistan. He said that on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, he discussed with his Indian counterpart various issues, including Balochistan unrest and Kashmir, and informed him of Pakistan’s concerns. The Indian PM’s allegation of Pakistan being the epicentre of terrorism also came under discussion.
Nawaz Sharif said terrorism is being promoted in Pakistan from abroad. He said: “There are many poor people in both Pakistan and India and we should concentrate on their betterment.”
The premier said he urged Manmohan Singh to resolve all the issues between Pakistan and India through talks, as peace was the only way forward for both the countries. Nawaz Sharif said he presented Pakistan’s principled viewpoint in the UNGA.
He said he hadn’t called his Indian counterpart a “dehati aurat” (village woman), as some media segments claimed. Sharif said his meeting with Singh was fruitful. He insisted on solution to all problems through dialogue and openly discussed the issues of Kashmir and Sir Creek, he added.
The PM said he had clarified to the Indian side that terrorism was not only the problem of Pakistan but of many countries. However‚ he said peace was essential for the people of the region. He said Pak-India dialogue process should go on.
Singh and PM Sharif met on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on Sunday, amid heightened tension between the two nuclear-armed neighbors over the Kashmir dispute. The two leaders agreed to work to stop a cross-border ceasefire after a spate of shootings in order to improve strained ties, officials said.
Regarding his speech at the UN General Assembly‚ Nawaz Sharif said he presented Pakistan’s principled stand on many issues and raised the issue of drone strikes.
Meanwhile, Adviser to Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz has ruled out the suggestion for a Taliban office, saying they do not need any office as the government is to hold talks with them inside the country.
Speaking to media people, he said the issue of Afghan Taliban was different from Pakistani militants. “The militants name their representative and decide when and where to meet, you may consider venue of talks as your office,” Aziz said.
He said there were various places where meetings could be held for peace talks. He expressed sorrow over the Peshawar blast and said the city was an easy target of extremists as it was located near volatile tribal region. He said it was difficult to overcome suicide blasts occurring in the country, adding there were many groups of Taliban in Pakistan....

They are the Talibs themselves. Talibs in LeT, LeJ, SeS or even the big bad Al-Qai'da are the same thing. It's only the Pakistani establishment that would again again diagnose a cancer as a normal flu. These guys are an independent phenomena they don't need direction from outside, why would they submit to an external element when they can hijack a country itself?

jaibi the Pakistani establishment has already refused any idea of thoughts. So its a bad habit to get oneself's cleaned of blame by using the word "establishment" and shift the blame on it.

We faced three blasts in 8 days we here share some information and are not dumbs. While tools are local TTP/LeJ/ SSP, and so on but the handlers are not locals.

We must eliminate and neutralize the local tools whatever way we can and then deal with handlers.

Take the action Man. Innocents are dying. You are going to get nothing out of blaming other countries.

Atleast taliban have a good follower in nawaz sharif.

since they denied ,has to be someone else ....as they allways speaks truth.:what:

The thing is Spring that these guys become an enterprise, much like a corporation, they have their own interests, their own infrastructure and even their own culture: it's basic social psych. There is no difference in a foreign Talib and a local one: they are self interested touts that move for their own advantage. It is incorrect to envision them as 'tools', they are the source of the problem itself.

I agree, that most likely they do receive external money but the degree of control on them is highly doubtful. Terrorism in Pakistan is a business do you know they paid USD 250 to kids to inform them of Army movements during Operation Rah-e-Najat? Our thinking that these people are tools is incorrect and dangerous.

Wow what a news item..... It shoudl ahve been government sees foreign hand the heading itself is wrong.....

Why cant we name them ... what are we afraid of here....

It is easy, too easy to assume that MNS is dumb and speaks without thinking.

I have been thinking about his recent statements and actions. There is a definite method to his 'madness', there is a pattern. Impatient people who want to use force at once to finish Talibans can not see the cycle being played out. It is strategy in which all the stakeholders in GOP are on the same page and acting their part.

Just take this statement of his about 'foreign hand'. He will not name it, and everyone who hears this would derive their own conclusions. That is just what is needed; an open-ended statement that is open to interpretation and manipulation. It is part of COIN strategy and not a result of any confusion or reluctance. The goings-on in UN are a part of this strategy too. Pakistan is slowly building up pressure on India knowing how Indians would react and using it for buttressing own position vis-a-vis internal situation as well as for expected negotiations with fresh government in India after May 2014.

Its my hand in pakistan unrest.

And I am a foreign element.
