Don’t be silly, bureaucracy is running the little things. Bigger things like foreign policy remains with Pindi, he is just another face like the president. He can be made irrelevant by a few steps like MQM was, most recent example.

You are forcing my point even further that government exists in documents and theory only. Practically, government of Nawaz Shareef has seized to exist.

But Pakistan deserves a PM, Pakistan deserves to be run more effectively than it is currently running. Current PM is a liability on the system to better remove him and let the country run by somebody who has capacity, ability and intention to lead the Nation. Pindi might be supplementing in the absence of PM but Pindi has its own job to do while PM has its own. A dysfunctional PM shouldn't be allowed to linger and drag on.

In Pak there are two parallel economies running! one is national and one is for the political class. Political economy is always doing good even during sanctions but national economy is never good. Ishaq dollar said 5% growth well it was only 3% according to economists and media outlets.

Then the rest is history. Second Marshall Law unleashed the unforeseen side effects of 80s which could argue that could have been opposite. Nevertheless, disaster for the economy until democracy stabilized the economy under PMLN. Third Marshall Law, illegally took over and the terrorism was born and MQM flourished under his ruling which PMLN was so close to finish MQM once and for all. Operations against MQM has taken place twice under PMLN and this time, again under PMLN.

Under democracy, PMLN again, it is taking care of the mess made by previous General and stabilizing the economy once again. If it wasn't for PMLN, Pakistan would have been worse similarity to Middle East now.

PMLN came thrice, and tried to stabilize the economy thrice and almost cleaned the mess made by Generals twice. And i mentioned almost because Generals didn't even let PMLN complete its term both earlier despite of Generals were able to rule closer to ten years in each term. And again, the coup almost took place which could have set Pakistan back to 10 years backward and probably more.

Pakistan under Marshall Law has always fared the worst in the history of Pakistan. No investors had faith in Generals. To the extent, the restriction of all kind was implemented. The art industry like cinematic, music and etc, had digressed badly except Musharraf. In fact, there is documentary released which deals on how the music died during 70s-80s which was during the ruling of Marshall Law.

The fact is PMLN is cleaning the mess; eradicating terrorism and criminal activity of MQM which was flourished under Musharraf and stabilizing the economy shows how disaster Marshall Law was for Pakistan which set Pakistan back to 10 years behind. The stability just got started, positive economic growth recently, but for how long? That depends on next coup which is not that far off.

If one more coup takes place, all the efforts made for Pakistan under PMLN would be for naught. Back to the beginning.
