PM Nawaz announces Rs15b for metro bus project in Karachi

PKR 15 Billion are not enough. Wonder what happened to that circular railway KCR project that Japanese were financing?
And I hope the management of this project is given to MQM guys, not CM Sindh.

Not only that Pakistan needs to fix Electricity/Energy problems and this idiot and his team is spending it on not so important projects.

instead of spending money on our collapsing railway infrastructure and building new dams,he is looking forward to these green buses.:suicide::close_tema:

There are so many new power projects in the pipeline that it beggars belief. In no order of importance the most potent under construction power projects in Pakistan are the:

1. Quaid-e-Azam solar park (1000 MW)
2. CHASNUPP-III (340 MW)
3. CHASNUPP-IV (340 MW)
4. Dasu (4320 MW)
5. Engro-Thar (1200 MW)
6. Coastal Nuclear Power Project (2200 MW)
7. Tarbela-IV Extension (1410 MW)
8. Neelum-Jhelum (969 MW)
9. Sahiwal Coal Poweer Project (1320 MW)
10. Port Qasim Coal Power Project (1320 MW)
11. Jamshoro (600 MW)

With the exception of Dasu and the Coastal Nuclear Power Project (CNPP), which are looking at a commissioning date around the year 2020) most of these projects are set to go online before 2017 and will cumulatively add 8499 MW to the national grid - (The figure with Dasu and CNPP stands at 15019 MW). Be reminded, however, this list is not exhaustive of all the major power projects under construction, or soon to begin construction. As you can see I've left out Gaddani (6600 MW), KE Coal Power (660 MW), Diamer (4500 MW) and CHASNUPP-V (1000 MW) and almost 50 other projects currently under construction. If the government's words have any weight, hear this:

The government is committed to ending load-shedding which is why it is ‘working day and night’ to complete new power projects, he said. “Since Pakistan’s creation, 23,000MW of electricity have been produced, while we are planning to add 21,000MW to the system in the next eight years.”

Fact of the matter is, despite all our criticism of the Noori huqoomat, they are actually working to get us out of the mire which 70 years of despotic rule has put us in. Let there be criticism, but let the criticism be just and informed.

Rs 15b are nothing for even one line. Karachi needs $3 Billion investment in transport sector.

and what about our collapsing railway structure, what about kalabagh and bhasha dams,do you know that glaciers are melting fast and we need dams urgently before it, to late, not to mention that nawaz sharif has delayed the bhasha dam project to 2037. and what about increasing the pays of workers, peasnant reforms, free health-care and education, electricity isn,t the only thing we wan,t.and i seriously doubt that all these projects would be complete by 2017.

Electricity is, actually, the only thing we want, whether we know it or not. It fuels any 21st century economy and in our case if we don't remedy the problem, our industry, particularly the textile industry, will come to a grinding halt and, as a nation, put us back at least 3 decades. Our future as a nation is dependant on the availability of electrical power.

Also the present budget increased the pays of government employees by 10% effective from the 1st of July, 2014. The fears of glacial meltwater are justified but have a read of this article before concluding anything.

Himalaya glacial melt set to peak by 2070

The Noori huqoomat has also vowed to stamp out terrorism and the work they've done thusfar, to that effect, looks sublime. Whether you understand or not, the current Government's policies have so much promised potential that it has the out-of-government political parties sitting on edge. So much so that the Chaudhry's have pledged their allegiance to TuQ and vowed to destabilize the government and impede them from achieving their aims. Because if they do achieve their aims, all major political parties in Pakistan will hold the outer ring while PML-N sweeps to a massive victory in the next general elections.

Institutional reforms and welfare will just have to do with moderate changes for the time being while the present government rightfully delivers the coup de grace to more pressing matters.
