gether in a "family reconciliation" for the better future of coming generations. Observer Research Foundation chairman Sudheendra Kulkarni urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take the lead in bringing India, Pakistan and Bangladesh together in a "family reconciliation" for the better future of coming generations. "The idea of an India-Pakistan confederation was also mooted by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the ideological guru of the BJP, and Dr Rammanohar Lohia, the great socialist leader, in 1964. In a recent speech, PM Modi has described Mahatma Gandhi, Deendayal Upadhyaya and Dr Lohia as three Great Indians of the 20th century," Kulkarni said.

"Since all three of them were in favour of a confederation, I urge PM Modi to take the lead in bringing India, Pakistan and Bangladesh together in a family reconciliation, leading ultimately to a family re-union," he said addressing a gathering here at the launch of his book 'August Voices: What they said on 14-15 August 1947'. He said that the people and governments of our three countries must refuse to live as prisoners of the past.

"We must create a better future for our coming generations. A future of peace, shared progress, eradication of poverty, justice and dignity for every human being in our subcontinent. To do so is our moral responsibility towards humanity," Kulkarni said. He added, that all three nations have the world's largest number of poor, deprived and divided people with common civilisational ancestry.

"Besides, neither India nor Pakistan nor Bangladesh can develop to their full potential without transitioning from discord to concord, from hostility to cooperation," he said.

Kulkarni said there is no lasting solution, acceptable to India and Pakistan, without some form of a confederal agreement between both nations.

He said that neither the solution to the Kashmir issue, nor the larger idea of a confederation, can move even an inch without Pakistan taking firm measures to eliminate terrorism from its soil.

"Pakistan must rid itself of terrorism and religious extremism for its own survival," he said, adding that India, Pakistan and Bangladesh today have an unprecedented opportunity to move towards economic and infrastructural integration in a big way.

"This can be done by India taking the lead in connecting the BCIM or Bangladesh-China-India-Myanmar Corridor with the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), and extending it further to Afghanistan and Iran," he said.

Kulkarni said new trade, business and people-to- people connectivities will create inter-dependence.

Hindu establishment will keep deluding itself with the delusions of subverting the sovereignty of South Asian Muslims. I think it might be time for us to seek the establishment of the Delhi Sultanate then.

family reconciliation and only Pakistan have to eliminate terrorism Indian trying to portray that they are Tahir shah,s angel,
It's india 's job to to calm herself down 700 thousands army alone in Kashmir is not firm step they have to eliminate redicalization from their main stream.
Pakistan is not supporting anywhere terrorism in region other wise india cud have see implication.
" parsad laga banay jab *#&/ lagi phatnay".

Was not Sudheendra Kulkarni Pakistan's favorite peacenik not all that long ago. Were Pakistanis not crying their hearts out for him when Shiv Sainiks painted his face black?

The only way people can respect India is for it to revert to the states and Kingdoms prior to British arrival. Otherwise, India is just a second hand imperialist trying to revive British empire with India as the conqueror.

Pakistan doesn't mind having a good relationship with India on certain conditions.
1) Indian must stop threatening Pakistan.
2) India must stop terrorism against Pakistan by using various different external and internal groups.
3) India must easy tension on the border and agree to the UN resolution on Kashmir and sincerely try to resolve the Kashmir issue.

Don't know why so many bengalis and south indians are peaceniks.
bcos south india / bengal (other than partition) was never attacked unlike north india. We live in a different world. Even terrorist incidents that took place down south is very few. It was same with bombay but with bombay blasts and later 9/11 views and perspective have drastically changed from being peaceful to seeking retribution.

We already have open borders with nepal & Bhutan.

This should give a clear image of who can't get along with whome

Two-nation theory will not let Pakistan have good relations with India or at least with non muslims of India. So what you say can not be accepted at face value and all other conditions you mentioned are useless.
1- Which country has vowed to fight a thousand years war with India? Which country was ready to eat grass to make nuclear weapons? Which country's nukes are aimed at a particular country? Which country is trying to inflict a thousand cut in revenge? So which country is actually threatening other?
2- Which country is known by the world for being the hub of global terror? Which country says there is a good terror and there is a bad terror based on her convenience?
3- the UN resolution on Kashmir is non binding in nature and today it has become redundant for the reasons -
a. Pakistan has not acted on pre condition of army withdrawal for implementation of UN plebiscite
b. Pakistan has changed the demography of her occupied kashmir.
c. Terrorists backed by Pakistan have driven out non muslim kashmiris from J&K
Besides it was agreed by both India and Pakistan in 1972 to resolve the issue bilaterally that put a permanent end to UN resolution on Kashmir.

Pakistan will never let this Akhand Bharat thing happen. We're not all the same people even if India has enslaved Bangladesh and Nepal.
The Punjabis and Sindhis are Indic. Hence They will always be culturally attracted to India. You cannot change that.

The other two people.i.e of Balochistan and NWFP are not.

But what Pakistan will do in return. Is Pakistan ready to close her terror camp and using paid terror proxies against India? If yes, your suggestions are acceptable otherwise both countries are free to play their cards what they think fit to counter each other.
