LOL Even if you have Nawaz Sharif as PM normal relations are out of the question. Modi and his gang want to disintegrate Pakistan and that is no secret. The moment any Indian leader tries to normalise relations with Pakistan the Hindutva gang will riot in Hindustan. Your leaders might try to put up a straight face at some meeting. Normalising relations is next to impossible.

I agree that normalization of relations will be a surprise. I do not believe that the ruling coalition in Pakistan has the domestic political leverage to achieve this - given their internal problems as well as the current Indian administration's perceived image in Pakistan. My comment was to color a purpose for any bilateral meeting between premiers of India and Pakistan (now or in the future). Without this type of development, there is no significance in any such events.

Perhaps the source of this news can be suspected. WION is the only news outlet that I've seen to talk about it.

Saw this on WION yesterday. It will be surprising if translates into normalisation of ties. By normalisation, I mean restoring some diplomatic relations and restoring trade across border (that was suspended after Pulwama).

Looking at the hundreds of Indian channels cosntantly beaming the Imran Khan ouster with the regime change operation, India is a party to all this with US as the main player, definitely.

No point reading much into this. At this point both countries are not in a position to make major policy shifts on status quo. The only change I foresee is lesser references to Pakistan in domestic speeches because the right wing had a certain dislike for IK and now he is gone. The old guard in both Pakistan and India like politicians who feel like the establishment and not outsiders. Dislike for outsiders is also why Kejriwal is hated by the oldies.
