ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday said that a housing project has been initiated by the federal government under which Rs300,000 subsidy would be given to 100,000 housing units, ARY NEWS reported.

The prime minister said this as he spoke to the masses via telephone today and responded to their queries. He said that a law needed for loans on housing projects was in pipeline due to some legal framework, however, it is now cleared and banks would provide loans for the construction of houses.


“I personally met with the heads of the banks and took measures needed for issuing loans for the housing sector,” he said while responding to queries of the masses via telephone.

Further detailing the housing financing subsidies, the prime minister said that the first 100,000 houses will get a loan of Rs 300,000. “Today, the banks are asking people to get loans for construction of houses,” he said adding that this facility would also enable the common man and labour class to build their homes.
PM Imran Khan said that no government in the world could provide accommodation to all poor people. “We have developed a scheme under which houses will be constructed,” he said.

He said that a majority of the people abroad construct their houses through bank loans, however, in Pakistan, only 0.25 percent of people avail from this facility. “30 percent people in Malaysia and 10 percent in India avail from this facility,” he said.

Hasn't the economy shrunk, tax collection less than previous years, hasn't the debt gone up. What planet are you fanboys on. It's sad to see that opinions are based on who some one likes etc we are worse than india, Bangladesh, Thailand, vietnam,Philippines etc and social programs are only viable if they can be payed for.
Every one in PTI is on the take, including ik, whose spending money is provided for by his ministers and cronies. In 7 years of governance in KPk are there any substantive improvements for the lives of the People there. In almost 3 years in central government and in Punjab there has been a steady decline. By claiming everyone else is corrupt, does not improve the governance in the country.

Economy shrunk thanks to blunders of Naju looter... He had an import based economy backed by huge sums of loans and a negative CAD...

Now we have an export based economy backed by tax generated revenue and loans too but not as much as naju looter... and CAD is around 700 Million dollars positive if I am not wrong...

And funny thing is Pakistan in alst few months exported more goods than Ibdia and Bangladesh.. and KPK has had improvements on Base level.. now KPK is building up on those improvements...

Didn't nawaz, do a similar gimmick, surely the PTI government needs to deliver and not just mouth off.

Court hi kar sakta hie you can't say in this system ke IK will announce punishment. He did what he could now if your court playing games here and there. Tareekh per tareekh, give bail lahore court is famous for. It's a rotten system but this is what we have now unless Imran khan gets 2/3 majority and undo and bring some new forms.

If he was quick he would manage dozen calls. Even if he spent rest of his term replying to calls he would barely dent the 200 million plus population of Pakistan. Let's take this as what it is. A PR stunt. But in country like Pakistan full of fools this has to be done. I really have concluded that most of Pakistani awaam are fools. After reading the Broadsheet files I can't believe how anybody would even consider Sharif family. But in Pakistan they still are demigods.

For anybody who has read Broadsheet file these are the takeaways -

• British Court found Sharifs of presumptive guilt with $100 million dirty money
• then against that presumptive guilt awarded 20% to Broadsheet as commission on that presumptive guilt

What this means is the London Court found Sharif guilty. Since the contract was revoked by Pakistan goveernment in 2003 Broadsheet was denied from making it's 20% from that $100 million. That is the award made.

For the layman in Pakistan this should finally be proof that Sharif's stole money from the poor of Pakistan. Yet ......

These measly one-time increases in exports don't mean anything. They happen naturally through market fluctuation and expansion. Just because they increased for a single month doesn't mean that you can go celebrating in the rain. In the past 20 years, exports saw the highest increase during PPP's rule. Did the PPP make Pakistan prosperous? PTI had no hand in the increase, just like the PPP.

That does not mean anything either. A gov institute set a target for itself, by itself, and then achieved it. Still, "the Ministry of Finance is also expecting a significant shortfall against the annual target". Apart from the fact that YOY tax collection has in fact decreased, despite the heavy increase in indirect taxation by PTI.
