Why is talking about Iran a sectarian issue? Has certain pro-Iranian segment criticising Saudi Arabia in Pakistan called tehre discourse a sectarian issue? This is basically a hostile neighbour issue [Iran] which is being swept under the rug by using sectarian excuse.
No one here has mentioned about it. Shia majority nations like Iraq and Azerbaijan also have issues with Iran's ways and practices tfor its own interests, they don't make it a sectarian or ethnic issue. Iran is a proliferating state that uses religion as a weapon to enhance its own interests even at the mercy of local cultures and populations.
Its influence has only created tensions between sunnis and shia living side by side. See the hell in Iraq there society now is completely divided and polarized. So is a liberal state like Syria. Iran used present conflict to convert local Syrian Alevis in border state of Latakia to their brand of religion. Check how Syria state is now leasing the Latakiya port in return for Iranian help in their civil war. Iranian mullahs using it to broaden their influence. FRom Azerbaijan to Iraq to Pakistan Iran is the propagator of sectarian discord. I think its high time to discuss its activities.
