Rulers with 30 years experience could not accomplish this what PM Imran Khan accomplished in just two years. Watch the on ground situation in this vlog.

The most striking point to me was release of 532 billion in refunds (blocked since PPP times). That is a huge amount in 2 years.

From the graph we can clearly see the increase in revenue due to market valuation of rupee. They can easily afford to hire more labour and expand.

I hope government now focuses on industries in Gujranwala and Sialkot, medical equipment (mainly surgical goods) electrical appliances (fans etc) and sports goods respectively.
Can anyone share the specific outlook of these industries?

you have to factor in PKR converstion here
in reality exports have grown only by 3-4%

BUT even a 3-4% growth is very good considerig our exports were dropping..
the export may pick up to 5-6%..this means your exports will double in 8-10 years..
which is again very good and enough (since our exports have dropped from 25 b in 2012 to 23 billion in 2019..

we have to be realistic

once however we see confidence and stability (may happen after 3-4 years depending upon 2023 outcome)..we will say high investment and then real uptake in growth exports 3-4 years after that ..

this how it happened in Bangladesh, vietname..it didnt happen OVERNIGTH

True.
My family in Karachi has been in textile since before even the Partition of 1947--they had been in textile business in India before that for generations. The skills and money they brought to Pakistan has sustained generations and helped Pakistan. Orders for Wrangler jeans alone were big. I have a pic of my dad's name scratched into freshly a laid pillar in 1955 in a new textile mill in S.I.T.E Karachi. The place still stands tall on about 2 acres. Tens of thousands people from all ethnicities have worked there without any discrimination.

Textile was the backbone of Pakistan but due to power outages and violence it has not been the same. So my family too suffered to the point where I started to help them financially from America for 15+ years. But things are improving! I now hear our family mill is working full capacity.

What Pakistan needs is stability!! No more ideological BS as done by Zia or ZAB. No more witch hunting as done by PPP and PMLN in the 1990s. And no more tolerance of any rioting, looting, and appeasement of Left or Right. If Pakistani Army can stand against the mighty Indian Army then they should be able to crackdown on those thugs who have been blocking even the Capital city of Pakistan in the name of this or that. On that note--there is no point trying to devote too much energy into going after the 'corrupt' previous ruler. Yes, laws should be implemented but each ministry must devote to the progress of Pakistan. If another NRO gets some money back then do that. Let there be stability for at least next 20 years!

This is good news but this is primarily due to end of energy crisis, betterment in security situation and improvement in infrastructure. Another factor is COVID situation in India & Bangladesh. Still it is almost at the same level as it was in 2018. This year cotton output has dropped at record low level but government did not increased minimum vages as well as land slide depreciation of PKR also contributed.

You have quoted data in PKR. Devaluation of PKR may have major effect then government policy or incentives. The devaluation was around 30% while increase in exports is less than that 10%.

The overall exports in USD are roughly the same. USD 25 billion in 2017 to USD 28 billion in 2019. Compared to 2018 the exports slightly dropped in 2019.

a CEO of a textile mill once told as i know him very closely that in APTMA meetings dar used to literally abuse them as they were begging for the revival of textile industry.
Dar use to say "if dubai can run on deficit why cant we.."
He said "we dont need exports.."

He said "we just need consumption and exports will work out it self

"What the issue if deficit runs in 3-4b ..i can get 100b more in foreign loan and run the country for another 20 years.."

What he didnt expect was that it takes decades to reverse this trend..destruction is easy revival is slow..his 3-4b deficit quickly changed into 10 & then 20b ...forcing establishment to kick him out..bought miftah..who himself wasnt wrong or bad guy but refused to act quickly given the politician back lash..so he did devalue abit but situation was already out of hand..he told clearly that country will either bankrupt or go to IMF with 200rs yo $ devaluation ...the only was to avoid that will be a huge free bonanzs of 10-15b$ ...they bet on USA help..and thus u saw dawn leaks ..

Afterwards...

The ultimate conseus was that PMLN will not win 2018 election and best case will be to bankrupt the country in 2019 and force establishment to give them the keys afterwards..

It was an ideal plan as a bankrupt country the establishment will be veey weak and people very angry..thus army can finally be made into punjab police ..

The only ptoblem was nobody realized the BEGGING capacity of imran khan
Who begged 20b $..shameful but necessary

Stretched the devaluation over a year, burned that 10-15b$ ..bought CAD to level where IMF will not demand a huge devaluation and stablized it further

Wow! This post should be elaborated upon in another thread. Gives a sweeping history of what's been going on in Pakistan over last several years. Thank you.

IK should have been given a medal of honor for using every thing he got to get pakistan out of this mess
he drove there fuking card became a choufer
but for this country
still people abuse him
people need to open there eyes
i m personaly in knowledge of some minutes of one meeting which a friend told me how ik practically begged mbs for 9 billion package
mbs didn’t expect that big celebrity to say wht he said
jamal khashogji was a blessing in disguise
that guy was our savior if i must say
the childhood friendship between shiekh muhamad maktoom played a role too
but all this wasn’t even possible without rahil shareef sitting in riadh
i m soo sad to say that our foreign minister just messed it up all
with one statement
we were to receive soo much more
cant go in details but if those plans went ahead
regional dynamics would have changed militarily and economically
