@Penguin, the reports talking about 057 startimg construction may have prooved false but the design is real and not fan art. The model was presented at Ideas 2016. I will try to find the link but 1 week ago i had posted the image of it in the 057 thread. As you stated it had 48 vls cells (32 in front and 16 midship) and 2 2x2 boxes for 8 AShM, 2 gatling style ciws midship and a fl3000n launcher above the hangar. It is model appearing exactly like the fan art described, now whether its actually called 057 im not sure. If it is displayed at IDEAS it is logical to assume it is for export. As per old reports it is to be on 4500t range which seems about right, but question is, if PN is going for MILGEM-G, can it afford t057? Im not sure it can but I'd hope it could get 2-4

As PN getting 24 as @Zarvan keeps stating and using them for LACM, it is 1)not doable d/t cost and 2)foolish to waste precious space on LACM when PN doctrine for land attack will likely be carried through submarines not surface vessels, but he will continue down the unrealistic belief road.

055 is likely not for Pakistan. Not necessarily because China would refuse it, but more because PN cant do much with such a large ship. It would likely take half of PNs operating budget on that ship alone, far better as @Penguin said, to get multiple smaller ships.

NAVY was due a facelift and budget is reserved for NAVY and other branches for last 10 years
I must admit I never heard of 057 / 058 before but the design looks awesome if it is true.

The most important aspect certainly is security and safety of region

One thing is for sure if it is Chinese it will be brand new and quality machine

Operating ships is certainly more cost effective vs running a Aircraft carrier for us large frigates or destroyers is ideal option to safe guard airspace and waters

Now aircraft carriers are way way way more expensive and for us that is just not ideal but to have surface fleet is absolute must

The greater focus is on the Submarine branch which depending on the economy could expand to as many as 14 boats!(if the optimistic ones at the office of DCNS Projects have their way)

China needs to allow Pakistan to export more to China to earn enough foreign reserves to buy more Chinese products

For example; if China allows more processed agricultural products to china (similar to how Israeli high quality tomatoes are exported to the US) such as mangoes (China can help promote Pakistani food products to its people as organic, more variety, and from a friendly nation) it can help fund Pakistan and lead to Pakistan being able to afford more Chinese tech.

there are 2 055s have been laid down in JN, but the 'factory/factories' has already ordered half dozen of radars and 'vital parts' that were designed for 055````so you know what I mean

oh, btw, the normal displacement of 055 is 12,000 tonnage, and full displacement is around 13,000``````but initially it was designed as 20,000 tonnage warship and reduced to the current displacement

Yes, that's all very well, but makes my point re. export all the more correct.

Perhaps the Type55 was shown to prove to what extent the Chinese Naval technology has matured and which capabilites can be transfered from Type55 to 57. I don't think we'd be buying a destroyer anytime soon nor we need one. Type57 offers us pretty much everything we want. @Rafi @SinoSoldier

From the people I know, the feeling is after the submarine project is completed. Need a powerful "destroyer" level protection for subs to operate safe from P8 type air threat.

Type 057 seems to fit PN bill nicely, the question is, whats the price and what weapon systems are available to it. Is it capable of hosting long range missiles like HQ-9. If it can get HQ-9 in the midship 16 cells and 32 DK-10 medium range SAM in the forward cells then the ship is in good shape (would be better if you could quad pack DK-10--> 128 med range missiles).
