From the pace of the current PLAAF development, 20 years will be the equilibrium point.

In 40 years India will catch up with China.

This is a misleading and erroneous goal for India. China has security requirements and priorities far exceeding India. India has already achieved practical defensibility against Pakistan; it now needs to achieve defensibility against China, while trying very hard to achieve a permanent peaceful solution of outstanding border problems. Once defensibility against China is achieved, nothing additional needs to be done specific to an identified country. India has no hegemonic ambitions, either in Asia or in the world. It has in addition to defensibility against Pakistan and China or both acting together some security concerns regarding its sea lines of communications, and will take steps to protect itself from economic blockade.

Defensibility against China is to be interpreted as defensibility against the military resources that China can practically deploy on the Sino-Indian borders, not China's fully potential military strength.

I feel sorry for China for confronting so many foreign bases off its east coast.

Why? The bases of your country are only there to help make a more peaceful world. Do you doubt that? Isn't it possible that the People's Republic of China is the most destabilizing and aggressive power in Asia? Perhaps your sorrow would be better reserved for the Taiwanese, the Tibetans, the Japanese, the Vietnamese, the South Koreans and the Indians ......

Tibetans? Ask your Wall Street masters to say that in public

We're aggressive? In US world, black is white, white is black, and whites are smart

The area PLAAF lag USAF the most now is NOT fighters. But large aircraft.

1. Transport, USAF has C-5 Galaxy and C-17 GlobleMaster in the numbers of hundreds!

2. AWAC, USAF has 50+ E-3 and many more E-2.

3. Air Refeuel Tanker, KC-10, KC-135 you name it.

Curently PLAAF has:

1. 30+ H-6 as Air Refeuel tanker and some IL-78 which signiciantly lag USAF.

2. 6 KJ-2000 and around 30 KJ-200 balance beam. Still lag USAF in large number.

3. Transport, this is the weakest area, China has about 120 Y-8 and only 20 IL-76!!!

PLAAF does not lag behind the USAF in terms of technology that much, maybe 10 years!! Because it is already designing J-20, and C919. But the TIME and funding to accquire them!! Funnding too is now not a problem. So only time.

In 10 years this all would change!

In the meantime, we need at least 2000 nukes ready to launch within 30 minutes. Otherwise, the US may be tempted to go for a first strike to cripple our launch capabilities, prevent weapon assembly, and become the undisputed boss of the world. They will need to kill every other human to achieve this, but no brutality is beyond these animals.
