Foreign participating teams arrive in China for "Seaborne Assault-2018"

QUANZHOU, July 23 (ChinaMil) -- As the national flag of the Russian Federation rose in the competition area in Shishi, Quanzhou city, China, at 8:00 on the morning of July 22, five teams participating in the "Seaborne Assault" competition among Marine Corps of the International Army Games 2018 all arrived in the competition area in China on time.
The competition organisation committee held the first meeting of the Judge Committee at 9:00. The heads and relevant personnel of the competition teams attended the meeting. During the meeting, the Judge Committee was formally set up, judges of each country were appointed and the competition schedule was confirmed. The rules of competition and the methods of performance evaluation were discussed and reviewed.
After the meeting, the Chinese side issued light weapons to foreign participating teams and arranged instructors to direct the operation of weapons. It is reported that all participating teams in the "Seaborne Assault" competition among Marine Corps will use the weapons and equipment provided by the Chinese side, including the automatic rifles, sniper rifles, 40-mm rocket launchers, and other light weapons, as well as ZBD-05 amphibious infantry fighting vehicles (IFV).
According to the arrangement, all participating teams will visit the competition venue to get familiar with the tracks and start adaptive training on July 23.

Chinese participants undergoes adaptive training for “True Friend” competition in Russia

MOSCOW, July 24 (ChinaMil) – The Chinese PLA Army’s participants in the “True Friend - International Army Games (IAG) 2018” underwent adaptive training in Dmitrov, Moscow Oblast, Russia on Sunday.
“After arriving at the Military Dogs Training Centre, we conducted 4-km cross-country race training and 300-meter obstacle race training,” said Chen Changlin, head of the PLA Army’s participating team in “True Friend” competition in Russia and director of the Beijing Military Dogs Breeding and Training Base. “This morning, Russian organiser arranged the heads of participating teams from China, Belarus, Iran, Egypt, Algeria and Uzbekistan to draw lots for weaponry distribution.”
It is the second time for Sergeant First Class Yang Yuhai and his “true friend” Allen, a Belgian shepherd dog that has served for nearly 5 years, to participate in the IAG. In 2016, he and Allen won the first place in the guard duty contest.
Sergeant Zhang Chaofan, for whom it is also the second time to take part in the IAG in Russia, said it was very important to achieve good results in the international competition, and what was more important was to learn from other participants through competing and exchanging views with them. “We will maintain a good attitude and exhibit our real ability in the competition,” he added.
From July 31 to August 5, the participants and their dogs will participate in the individual dog race and dog relay race, guard duty, 300-meter obstacle course, and other events in Dmitrov.

PLA Army participates in "Road Patrol" competition in Russia for first time

MOSCOW, July 25 (ChinaMil) -- Reporters visited the camp of the Chinese participating team in "Road Patrol" competition of the International Army Games (IAG) 2018 at the Training Complex of the Noginsk Resque Centre of EMERCOM of Russia, in Noginsk, Moscow Oblast, on July 23. This is the first time for the Chinese PLA Army to participate in this competition in Russia.
The "Road Patrol" competition is sponsored by the Main Military Police Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defence, while the participants are mainly the military vehicle supervisors. The competition has been formally included into the IAG in 2017.
This year, the competition will be held in Noginsk from July 30 to August 5 and will include participating teams from Russia, China, Uzbekistan, Iran and Armenia. According to the competition rules, each participating country should send six participants to take part in.
This year's competition includes seven parts: extreme driving, individual pursuit race, road traffic management, tyres replacement, and team relay race, etc.
Chen Xiaoming, head of the PLA Army's participating team in “Road Patrol”, said they had carefully studied and analysed the competition rules and procedures and strengthened the psychological and adaptability training before the competition, in order to compete effectively.
