NOWSHERA: Liaqat Khattak became the first casualty of the Pakistan Terheek-e-Insaf (PTI)’s electoral defeat on the provincial assembly constituency PK-63 as he was de-notified as the provincial minister for irrigation.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman de-notified Liaqat Khattak as minister after receiving a summary from Chief Minister Mahmood Khan.

Liaqat Khattak and his son Ahad Khattak, who is a former tehsil nazim, were accused of supporting the rival candidate PML-N candidate Ikhtiar Wali, who with the support of the component parties of the 11-party opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) defeated the PTI nominee Mian Umar Kakakhel.

Prime Minister Imran Khan took strong exception to the defeat of the PTI candidate and sought a report from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Shah Farman and Chief Minister Mahmood Khan. He is said to have expressed annoyance over the rift among PTI leaders in Nowshera.

A committee was also constituted to look into the causes of the PTI candidate’s defeat.

Liaqat Khattak had developed differences with his brother, Federal Minister for Defence Pervez Khattak, over the award of the PTI ticket.

It was alleged that the supporters of Liaqat Khattak had resorted to festive airing after the victory of the PML-N candidate. The videos of the firing had been shared with Prime Minister Imran Khan and other PTI leaders. This prompted the prime minister to ask the chief minister KP to remove Liaqat Khattak from the cabinet.

The PK-63 Nowshera had fallen vacant after the death of PTI lawmaker Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel due to Covid-19. The PTI had awarded the ticket to his son Mian Umar Kakakhel, but he failed to retain the seat.

Who can trust anyone in this Godforsaken land? It is your own brother and sister stabbing you in the back. Is there any hope?

Kick them out of the party. There should be no scope for such ppl in PTI regardless of political impact.
If today we let the party politics be affected by this sort of blackmail, tomorrow government will be too.

It's not even hilarious, at least accuse him of some thing realistic... how can one man influence a grass root PTI voters to vote PMLN!!

Reality is PTI is the most unpopular party in Pakistan, public has given it's verdict, where even Zardari is rated higher than ruling clergy.

How PTI is plundering with both hands and feet, it refelcts they are not sure of the tomorrow.

It's my guess, that they day PMLN wins the general elections extension of Bajwa will be terminated, now this thought make the situation more grave, where most hated minority is being forced upon majority by unfair means. I seriously hope UN take notice of the situation before it gets more ugly.

I hope some media house report the evil alliance of Imran Khan and IMF... rest assure there are cuts involved, which are paid to some foreign accounts, in cayman island.

The most unpopular party just won in NA75 and NA45 two seats that they had lost in 2018 and that were in the heart of PML-N and JUI, respectively.

Stop barking whatever comes to your mouth.

Mate the problem is most of the population is uneducated and on stunted growth syndrome, Pakistan doesn't deserve honest leaders, whole of Pakistan is corrupt to the core and are happy with short cuts and swinging corrupt ways. it's all about me me.

Pee Pee Pee and Godfather have destroyed the country with never ending debts and treachery in every department.

So PTI the party of meritocracy practices sons inheriting fathers parliamentary seat. Remember how he used to rail against such practices ??
Within months of being selected, IK's party happily buys and sells seats , loves the PML PPP floor crossing defectors and lets sons inherit daddy's warm seat in Parliament. All the sins of party defectors he used to screech about are quickly forgotten.
In these years he has been in power Pakistan has acquired the largest and fastest growing debt in Pakistan's whole history of existence.
EACH man woman child and baby in Pakistan now OWES Rs175,000 of debt. 8.6% of GDP and twice the limit of Pakistan's own laws.

During the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government’s tenure, the per capita debt has jumped by 46% or Rs54,901, according to the Fiscal Policy Statements of the two years of PTI government.
