Political liking aside, this is a welcome statement coming from KP govt. It again gives a hope that this KBD can be pushed ahead. We desperately need such large dams, hope other stack holders will also come to senses and we see some development on this.

the issue is the proposed dam is going to build in Punjab territory while it threatens the two cities of KPK in case of flood...people don't want that Punjab gets all the water benefits from dam while kpk only gets floods .Punjab dont want to compromise its land..same case with Sindh they dont want Punjabs supremacy over water...and of course Baluchistan will speaks for them, from where money comes...so in short it a stupid fight between provinces while no one cares for greater good...

some estimates put it at around 10-12 billion dollars ...financing the project wouldn't be much difficult bcz the returns will be good so any financier will be willing to help .

Financing is least of KBD problems, because WB is ready to finance. Also unlike Basha dam, KBD can be build in 5 years.
