well iran gas pipe line is like a blessing in disguise for pakistan cause it just might prompt them to have an independent foriegn policy after all but will pakistanies be willing to pay the price remains to be seen

USA might block foriegn remitence , might not give support at IMF and paksiatn becomes a defualter and put trade sanctions and NATO will follow suite (but it just might give pakistan breathing space as it needs pakistan after its partial withdrawl from afghanistan)

Saudia might not give pakistan any more free oil + also freeze assets of pakistanies elite in the kingdom and even send some of pakistanies working there back to pakistan

I dont recall Indian senior members here demeaning other nationalities with phrases like "outsourced laborers", and in present context, there are many for your nationality. The side which is insecure is visibly evident.

as I said, you gotta earn the saudi money... few more attacks on India, few more bomb blasts, more taliban activity ... some more attacks on Isaf... and see how the oil money flows....

because they didn't earn it.... they are just sitting on it and rich have unique hobbies,,, saudis in this case want their version of islam exported all around, and pakistan does a hell of a job marketing it, (not buying it, but just marketing it!). Saudis for the first time extradiated to india a Key terrorist Abu jandal who has started singing and implicating ISI and PA in Mumbai attack. and more, if Saudi is investing billions in India means they dont want any terrorism in India. Saudi has changed its perception already.

In this context, sanctions could be a logical choice for US.

It is China which is backing Iran and Pakistan, Nothing to do with international isolation, if china steps up cooperation with Pakistan and fill the void left by the US or reducing the influence of US.

The worst case scenario here is US reducing the support to Pakistan and China not venturing into Pakistan to fill the gap left by the USA.

Self reliance is still a long way to go for pakistan in today's scenario.

I hope India is not foolish enough to build a pipe line any where from pakistan.... Putting nations energy requirements into pakistan is the dumbest thing to do, every other day there would be ransom demands from pakistan.
