Last week, pictures of 19-year-old Sahar Tabar from Iran went viral after it was reported that she underwent a whopping 50 surgeries to look like Angelina Jolie. Sahar, who was looked at as the poster child of plastic surgery gone wrong, has now revealed that the pictures were fake.
According to reports, Sahar told Russian news outlet Sputnik that she used a combination of make-up and Photoshop for the photos, which she doctored to "amuse" herself. The teenager, whose Instagram followers multiplied since the pictures went viral, called it a "form of self-expression".
"Over time I post a photo, I make my face more fun and funny, it is a form of self-expression, a kind of art," Sahar said, adding that her "fans" knew that this was not her real face.
Untampered photos of Sahar have surfaced on the internet, which allegedly show what she actually looks like. They are definitely a far cry from her gaunt appearance that shot her to internet fame.

- No, of course. This is Photoshop and makeup. Every time I publish a photo, I paint my face in an increasingly funny way. It is a way of expressing yourself, a kind of art. My fans know that this is not my real face.
- All media say you wanted to be a copy of Angelina Jolie. Is it true?
- Actually, no. I did not even think about being like Jolie. Also, I did not want to resemble the cartoon character "Rotting Bride". Now I understand that I have something to do with them, but I am a muse myself and remembering someone is not an end in itself.
- What plastic surgeries did you do?

- I had a nose, enlarged mouth and liposuction. I see nothing wrong with the operations: many people in the world undergo this kind of treatment. Here, in Tehran, one operation costs 10 million Iranian rials (about 1000 zlotys - ed.).
- They say that you wanted to lose weight at all costs to weigh 49 kilograms?
- I lost weight, that's true. But I did not drop 40 or 30 kilograms, but about five or seven. Now my weight is 54 kilograms.
- How did your family react to all these changes? Iran is a Muslim country with strict morality.
- Of course, they initially opposed how they could. For them, plastic surgery is not the norm. But now that everything has already happened, my parents support me completely. And this is the most important thing.
- How do people on the street react to you?
- People react calmly when I arrive in the city. They meet me, they call my name. Then they approach, talk, embrace, support in every possible way with words. I do not feel any negative reaction.
- However, there have been many criticisms on the Internet over the past few days. Are you worried about this?
- For me the most important thing in life is the approval of my family and God. This approval is, that's enough for me. The opinion of other people does not bother me at all. I release negative opinions.
