I respect your knowledge mate but sometimes internet facts are not the exact as real life facts.Like for instance the Ghatak think you told is completely wrong.

Ghataks are purely from inside the battalion and not outside.Like for eg 1st battalion of the Naga regtt will have companies like Alpha,Bravo,Charlie,Delta Headquaters and Ghatak company which will have troops from other companies who are very fit and skilled and then are given specialised training of various things such that incase of a war they dont have to rely on the overburdened Paras.

And they keep on changing..its not an exclusive group.

In terms of the Ghatak recruitment you seem to know what your talking about so I won't argue with you. Hence it is possible that the guys in this ex were regular PARA, I could believe this.

Yes and that's what happens. I don't think any of those in Yudh Abhyays 2012 are SF (on either side) but regular troops and airborne troops (regular PARAs from IA and airborne infantry from US). Whilst Yudh Abhays was a different ball game as members on the US side were SF (Green berets) and that's why IA also sent SF. BTW the Indian and US army SFs have their own exclusive and separate set of joint ex called Vajra Prahaar and the latest edition of this will take place later this year in August.

As far as I know IA Sent both Regular Para's and SF.Not just SF alone.
