this was after vietnam war yes?? war was not popular in the usa, specially at that time.. they could not re-engage in battle, and fight and even broader war...

these days, sure people are sick of war.. but i think you would find majority of americans would support a war, if china blatantly attacked other countries to claim all seas and lands it wants... you would find china would be treated like hitler's germany.. land grab.. land grab.. land grab..
