Petrol Prices Increased to Rs. 127.30 per liter! The highest ever price in the history of Pakistan.

Dollar crossing Rs. 171 - the highest ever in the history of Pakistan.

The finance ministry said Pakistan’s prices are lowest in region but we also have one of the lowest GDP per Capita in the region. It also declined 14% since 2018.

The respite offer by Covid is now over. Current account deficit is back, the myth of the economic turn around is dead… interest rates will now rise to stop consumption which will lead to less economic activity… massive spending to drive the economy are at a halt… we are going back right where we started - about to hit a massive wall and the party is now over!

The federal government on Thursday increased the price of petrol by Rs4 per litre for the first fortnight of October, effective from Friday, according to a notification issued by the Finance Ministry.

The government approved Rs4 per litre increase on petrol and Rs2 per litre in the price of diesel.

The price of kerosene oil went up by Rs7.05 while the rate of light diesel was jacked up to Rs8.82 per litre.

Petrol, with the Rs4 increase, will now cost Rs127.30 per litre, whereas high-speed diesel, with an increase of Rs2, will now cost Rs122.04 per litre.

The new prices will come into effect from 12:00 midnight.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) had sent a summary to the petroleum division seeking an increase in petrol price by Rs5.25 per litre. The diesel price was recommended to be raised by Rs3.5 per litre.

The federal government had increased the price of petrol by Rs5 per litre on September 15.

The government had approved Rs5 per litre increase on petrol and Rs5.01 per litre in the price of diesel.

People should brace for more such news.

Even in UAE, that is one of the largest producers of fuel, the prices are going up. A country can keep the prices low to a certain extent, after that, it must have to transfer some of the impact to the public..

Not that I am trying to justify the PTI govt. policies, but its even worst in UK, you have no idea how expensive the daily items have become and in fact the diesel prices have soar to £1.40 per litre and its getting even more expensive.

Whats your disposable income ???

The AVERAGE MONTHLY wage In August 2021 employees in the United Kingdom were earning a median pay of 1.98 thousand pounds per month, which was a large increase from the 1.5 thousand pounds per month they were earning in July 2014.

Totally unskilled dustbin men who pick up rubbish

The average pay for a Garbage Man is £31,312 a year and £15 an hour in London, United Kingdom. The average salary range for a Garbage Man is between £24,018 and £37,302

There is a vast shortage of UNSKILLED and SKILLED employees. You could walk into any job centre and by the afternoon be in a job that pays over 30,000 pounds

This is something pakistani's won't understand. Stop comparing yourself with superpowers and your neighbours, our per capita income and wages are to low to compensate for ever increasing inflation.

What should government do?

blame the previous government and get drunk
cool, I like this method
and bring the previous gov, subsidize $s, bring down your exports (my family is in factory business, they make tractors, auto parts since the 80s etc, we are not as trash in our sophistication of products - but your policies were pro-import for so long - this is also stopping our businesses from truly going to the next step despite having knowledge for these somewhat sophisticated industries for so many years)
like if you are into these businesses you feel that gov is looking out more for importers than the your own guys who are making this stuff in our own country

In the 60s, 70% of ford car was manufactured in Pakistan, so our industrial legacy is broken, really damaged sure, but still their- we have the know how to do more than stich clothes - but when you make it cheaper to import than to export for decades
all this industrial legacy goes to waste

Countries cannot grow on the back of importers

you can import all these items at cheap and not do any kind of import substitution (even though you can make a lot of these things yourself within 5-6 years- only if you gave a s***)
great few years than a disaster

rinse and repeat, over and over again
